Okay, with the sound II challenge going on, seems like a good time for this:
What music do you like to listen to while taking pictures?

Fair enough, when I'm with others I don't either, but when alone, I have a specific photography playlist.

Whatever is coming out of the car passing by that has the windows rolled down and the stereo cranked up to high levels of distortion. |

I don't really listen to anything when I'm shooting. I find it gets in the way.
If I'm shooting landscapes, I want to hear the wind and the birds. If I'm shooting people, I want to be able to talk to them. If I'm shooting on a street I want to feel the ebb and flow of the environment. All that stuff inspires me to shoot differently than I think I might if I'd blocked it out.
Worst times I've had have been trying to shoot models with really loud background music. It just doesn't seem to work for me.
I'll listen to plenty of music on the way to a shoot or on the way home, just not during.

I'm not against music, but I am usually walking around some pretty busy streets, and at times tend tend to zone the people around me out a bit. Music would only compound thee issue. I don't want to be the jerk in NYC who stops directly infront of people with no warning, given how much it agitates me when I am on the recieving end. |

No music. Like Gordon, I prefer the sounds of the environment. |

Om a serious note, no I don't listen to any music when I am shooting. I however do play some muscic sometimes when I am processing and sometimes the muscic does play some part in the final image. |

If music is playing while I'm shooting I don't hear it, so I don't bother to play music unless I have a model.
But, when post-processing, the choice of music is important. |

No music while on the photo shoot...even if at home for that distracts.
However, when looking at the results of the photo shoot or processing I will, on occasion, listen to music. For example this one absolutely called for the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack to be played:-) |

I can do both. Actually for my Ansel Adams I was listening to Harry Potter on CD while shooting out the window of my car. It depends on the kind of shoot though. If I'm out on my own I'll typically have my iPod on.

I don't listen to anything while shooting, but I have taken a lot of shots inspired by music. However, I do listen to music when I process.
Currently I'm listening to:
Brandon Heath
The Fray
Mat Kearney
Bruce Springsteen's Ghost of Tom Joad - This is a great CD.
David Gray
Matt Nathanson
Mercy Me |

Im usually in the mountains when Im shooting so listening to my ipod can be dangerous with some of the wildlife around, so like some of the others I prefer to be able to hear whats going on around me...
