At least. I would say upwards of 25.

I'd expect it would take a 6.8, maybe 6.7, to make the 50% line...

Methinks you may be right. Puts me at about 40% :)

For a while there I thought someone replaced the usual voters since my score was consistently stuck in the 6.85-6.9 range but now it has started its typical decline that most of my entries experience. It seems to always start after the 100 vote mark. There is just no pleasing those voters.

Yup and most of the mid to high 7s will probably go to the usual full color landscapes with the sharp wide lenses and grad filter attachments. DPC loves its scapes. They wet themselves whenever one graces their monitors. It's like porn but without the guilt.

You have rated 171 of 171 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 7 images (4%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.3041

May comment on a few more, may not. Perhaps a bit higher than my usual score given in FS challenges; overall the photography was very competent. I suppose I was expecting more than more of the same, or perhaps I've just been here entirely too long.

You know, I looked at the 8+ images, and there are only 8 of 40 qualifying as landscape. Only one of them was done in the last 18 months. It's hard to score super high with a landscape. The truly high scoring photos are great portraits.

There's only 8 (ish) of them, too. I think there might be a bit of a selection bias going on.

Yep, that's what I'm telling myself re: my normal FS score. Okay, not balloons, but the same concept.

I haven't voted yet, but I got the same feeling. Some great shots to be sure, but I was actually more impressed with the "regular" Free Study entries.

I know from the other FS that I have entered a portrait, that people in general dont like them for some reason. They tend to like animal and nature photos more. I've even gotten comments about photos that I have done to people I share them with and they always say they rather see nature and animal photos than people.

Its a personal preference I guess, or it could be that I suck at porrtaits. Either way, I think in this challenge is going to be mostly about personal preference. Some like landscapes others like animals and others like people.

Well I didn't say anything about 8+. I said mid to high 7s. ;)

A few mentioned earlier that they saved their best shots for the FS because of the FSM.

Well...if you're after a ribbon, I would have thought entering your strongest image in the regular FS as opposed to the masters (where the competition is probably going to be greater) would bring you greater success!

It shows. There were also probably some that put in extra effort for the regular FS, either to "compare" against the MFS, or with the idea that the competition might be less intense. Admittedly, I didn't put any effort into shooting for this challenge (as Karma suggested earlier), which is personally disappointing. I've been swamped with work and almost didn't enter at all, but I'd feel even worse sitting out given the intent of this particular competition.

For someone who has averaged a 5.4 over the last 10 challenges you have me very curious as to what you entered. Anyway, nice job! Now can you spare me some high votes? It seems all I'm getting now are votes 5 or lower.
