		| | I have played music for a number of years. Church worship, and with some bands over the years. Nothing spectacular. I am getting into electronic music now, mostly because I am a nerd, and also because I decided that it would be fun to break out of my old music habits since I am old enough now to objectively listen to all types of music with an open mind and find things that I enjoy in each of the different genres.
Who else plays? Any websites with samples of your tunes?

		| | congos and bongos are my instrument of choice. I also pick around on the guitar and have recently picked up the mandolin and loving it. Hubby writes and plays guitar. He is a very talented writer and singer. Lucky for me 'cause I get serenaded A LOT when he is here and not on the road working.
We play at a few local bars for fun and pocket change, but have yet to record together. I don't know why. Lack of time and money, I guess.

		| | I'd bet there are plenty of musicians here at DPC. I'm a middle school orchestra teacher, professional violinist/violist, and to shake things up a bit, I've played synthesizers for a few bands over the years. www.johnnysonic.com/ is my website for electronic music and my favorite song example so far is offline. ;)

		| | And so, we have 3 Nikon musicians and 0 Canon musicians thus far... :P ETA: oop, Marc had to go and slip that triangle in first. Timing is everything on triangle.

		| | Add another Pentaxian into the mix: I am basically retired from playing. I was a concert French hornist in Indiana, and a rock guitarist in the Chicago area for several years before moving to Florida. I'm afraid it dates me, but we opened for groups like Cheap Trick (back in the day.) |

 Violin, played since I was 8 ;)

I'm not very good tho, I can't sight-read music so I didn't get very far. And this is certainly not for lack of trying. I can sight-read notes, but not rhythms...causes problems and frustrations.

I also play handbells in my college's handbell choir.

I play the synthesizer and wooden (asian) flute and a very little bit of acoustic guitar... all by the ear.. never learnt. Do I count? I hope that makes 2 Canon musicians here now ;-)

		| | Drums here. I started about 1965 playing dances for money with my friends. I did the music thing full time for about 20 years. I still play a little once in a while with old friends and other musicians. My son has the drum kit that I started with, which was used in 1965. I almost quit playing about 1982 or so, and have smaller drum kit now that I use for music GTG's. I also play guitar a little, mostly rhythm, and did quite a lot of technical things like engineering for recordings and running sound. It's a lot different now from then. We quit about the time CD's were first getting popular.

   My old drum kit.
Oh, and I use Nikon lenses most of the time : )

		| | I am one of the DPC musicians around here and my moniker describes my first instrument...
I play trombone, bass trombone, baritone, tuba, some trumpet, guitar, and piano.

I currently play in a few bands including the Vic Elsi Big Band (swing and dance music) that plays regularly at Stash's, a club in New London Conn, a brass quartet that specializes in jazz holiday stuff (we play around Connecticut for around Christmas), and I play guitar in Mass on Sunday mornings.

And here's a few entries with a musical theme that I have entered over the past couple of years.

		| | I wanted to play the drums once but Jason_Cross told me and I quote "You got no rhythm" so he never even let me try, really sad because I could have been really great but now we will never know.

Sad, a young kid stifling an old man's creativity before it can even blossom. :P

Wow Trish, that's an impressive bio! My wife is a cellist also and if I could start life over again I would give up my violin to be a cellist. It's simply the most beautiful sounding instrument ever put together by human hands (just my humble opinion of course).

		| | Bass guitar. Though my brother is by far the more talented musician of the family (he's outrageously talented) and I had a lot of fun playing in a band with him last year. We rocked out in Battle of the Bands on Michigan State's campus, had a blast! Here's our old myspace. That's me in the dress. I also play Rock Band whenever I get the chance - does that count?

		| | I'm another drummer. Been playing for almost 9 years now, and I love it. Trying to teach myself how to play piano/keyboard, which is pretty fun.
Other than playing music, I enjoy recording. Got a mini home recording studio set-up, and that's also a lot of fun to work on.
