		PostLUMINOUS Awards for Abstract B/W:

316 entries, lots of wonderful images!

 The Nominees:

       epescala Kelli mattforbes levyj413
      kevip6 EssAreDubya Stang jmritz
      surfinbird szalona

and each get the PostLuminous Award Nomination

 The Winner:
And, unable to choose between these two. I finally realized that they are very similar in form, flowing lines, and compositional structure, which is probably why both of these light up the exact same buncha neurons for me, and so both share....

 The PostLUMY goes to:

      figaro patio127

I am not usually one to highlight photos that are not received by DPC as the norm, but this one is fantastic and was soundly misunderstood during voting.

Wow, never has a challenge been so much in need of posthumous ribbons. I swear that in the past, a clearly described challenge like "no subject" or "abstract macro" led the voters to modify their usual expectations, but based on this challenge the voters have lost their minds. I'm glad to see others have posted their choices because these photos need some sort of recognition.

		Abstract B&W

Many of my top picks made the Top 20...a few fell substantially short. Here's a look at the ones I thought were somewhat overlooked:

(there was one more, but he never marks any comments helpful, so I'll skip that one).

This one was a sleeper that I didn't really discover until after the challenge as I was reviewing some posted comments.

I was waiting for this one to come up, but it didn't, which is a travesty.

So I'm posting it as MY ribbon winner. Sorry I don't have a graphic:
