Took your advice, and entered the challenge. No more whining from me! hehe.

Shouldn't that be 'no more WHINNYING from me!'? ;-)

Have a willing accomplice and bring some stuff. Best is some small rocks inside a milk jug, shake it. Dog squeaky toys. Fabulous is to hide your accomplice under a rug or tarp, "be the bear" and have them be aggressively noisy. Those tricks won't work over and over, so be prepared to shoot.

How can I make my cow look like a horse? 8 hours to go.

Don't forget, hipychik err, Doyle, that all horses are intrinsically magnificent, it's up to us to capture that magnificence. And though it likely will be an action shot of a horse that wins, there may well be some stationary horses doing well too.

I was just wondering why I never see anyone riding a horse. I see them all fenced in and eating grass but never see anyone actually on the horse! I did manage to get a shot that I like though!

Oh and Susan...you can still call me hipychik if you want! :P

Oh trust me, there are a great many 'pasture pets' and 'living lawn ornaments' around. Masses of them out here. People move out to the country, decide they better get a horse or horses, ride a couple of times, then get too busy to ride and just park 'em. *sigh*

What, did you scare them into stampeding by showing them your haircut?

Thanks bunches! That's so sweet of you, hihosilver!

I've really struggled with this challenge. I've not got a winner, but at least I entered ... *sigh*

I'm looking forward to seeing all of the horse shots.

I'd like to congratulate the Red and Yellow Ribbon winners ahead of time. It will be their priviledge to share the DPC front page with my entry next week.

ristyz and I would like to note that a bunch of our pro horse shooter friends joined here as members a long time ago, never entered challenges and this is bringing them out of the woodwork. So bring your A game! (that's asss for you, Slippy) Might see some new names on the front page. Maybe they'll stick around. Maybe, like me, they're lousy at themes. ;-)

Good Luck everyone! I tried so hard to get a photo for this challenge, but it has been so rainy and muddy here this entire week. My sister has some beautiful horses that I love photographing -- but they weren't exactly photogenic this week with mud caked all over them.

I am sure there are going to be some beautiful, majestic ones, and I can't wait to vote on every single entry of this one!

I look forward to seeing them. But my joy this week, will be to see you on the front page over everyone else. You deserve it!!!!

Aw, Judi, that is sooo sweet! Like everyone else, I struggled. Judging the mainstream appeal is tough. I could take lessons from you, that's for sure.
