I would LOVE to go - especially in July. Being a desert dweller I couldn't deal with extreme cold. I've been to Iceland twice and loved it - this was in my pre-photographic days, though. This would be the bomb. Yes, cost would be good to know... I'm going to check on flights.

Echoing many here - it's a place I've always wanted to go!
We'll be relocating to Germany soon, so it will be much easier to get to Iceland; I'd be really interested!

Looks like from Minneapolis to Iceland round trip non-stop is about $1000 per person +/-

I'm definitely interested. Airfare is around 450 Euros for travel in August 08 flying from Helsinki. Sounds OK at this point.

Count me in! This is the perfect opportunity to visit a place I've always wanted to go to and to meet some fellow DPC's :D
And it's in my summer holidays, weee! (But I hope there's not too warm - it's colder than Denmark, right? Please say it is, I'm melting here...)

Seriously, 20 degrees is almost too hot XD
Oh, and I couldn't help myself - I had to check. The warmest day in july reached 31,4 C and that was on my birthday :D Which is rather not funny considering I'm not too fond of the heat...

I hear you. I start complaining of the heat when it reaches 15. No, really.

Sh*t!! If there was ever a reason to get a passport, this is one. I better start now - I hear it's taking longer and longer. I hate flying by myself though. I need to find someone to accompany on the flight there. HOW FUN

OOH this is getting better and better. Husband just told me "why don't you do it?" Well hello???

I just played with round trip airfare from Austin to Reykjavik and it was only 800.00 - 1100.00 That isn't cheap, but I was expecting tons more. I may need someone to meet me and fly from Boston or Minneapolis (there is a direct flight) there, any takers? hee hee

(bustling around to get passport papers started)

I talked to my hubby tonight about this, and he has always wanted to go to Iceland too, so we are really looking in to whether or not we could make it happen.

Count me in as a serious maybe. Visiting Iceland has been a dream of mine ever since I joined dpc.
