Here is my day 3 photo. Three members of my family have a birthday within a week so when we got together, rather than making 3 seperate cakes this was the result. It's a six laver chocolate cake, it's not my best decorating job, but it tasted great.

Question:What are people posting for...to share..to learn...to get hungry? Is it more of a recipe thing or more of a photography thing?

I like this but something about the wrapper bugs me. I think if they were turned a little so that the wrapper ends weren't "pointing" right at me maybe... They certainly look yummy though :). |

 Yes.

I think it started as a motivation to practice food photography; someone added post the recipe if you want, and then someone somewhere suggested if we got enough good recipes maybe we could put together a recipe book, perhaps in PDF/eBook form ... |

I agree with your thought...at this angle, I lose the definition in the wrapper end and it turns to more of a white cloud. I need to reshoot this one. Thanks!

I was so smitten with your photos that I didn't read this question.

 What Paul said - 'yes'.

I love to cook and I love photography. Often when I cater food for events, I take photos of it - so I though this would make a fun side challenge.

Post recipes if you like - not a requirement, though. |

That's a nice question! I like GeneralE answer: yes!

Sharing: Just fun. Seeing your own results (good or bad) in combination with lots of others.
Learning: Practicing is more helpful than watching and studying (imho). Comments are also very helpful (Wouldn't mind a little more critic).
Hungry: who wouldn't be, seeing all these wonderful photos
Recipes: always nice (although I've sometimes a language problem here)
Photography: isn't that what this site is all about?

Probably not an answer, just expressing my thoughts on a late evening. |

Your white balance is off for sure. Try two things in camera first...
Use your Auto White Balance, see what happens. There has to be a better match than what you have OR you have conflicting light sources, perhaps? Don't be afraid to shoot at a higher ISO if shooting handheld. If you're using a tripod slow down your shutter speed.

In Paintshop Pro, look for Selective Color Controls and attack the Yellows also try to do some simple desaturation to the whole image. |
