I was inspired to try again. Perhaps more successful, but I have no gauge to by which to gauge that . . .

Large Families Show The Variations of Beauty! Beauty! (a poem)
Title: Beauty
To see great beauty in the world,
we must in haste define,
The things that make the beauty's "pearl,"
and how to see sublime...
Is beauty part of woven skin,
while all else goes for naught?
Or does true beauty lodge within,
the deep and God-shaped spot?
I know of none who'd be so crass,
to say that beauty looks...
Forever like a youthful lass...
in prime of peaks and crooks...
Yet often we betray our mind,
with heads that turn to see,
The latest flesh that makes us blind,
to holy liberty...
We need few words to point to grace,
and beauty that will last,
Our silent awe will shout our praise,
to One Who changed our past!
For beauty seen in Earthly lives,
requires we know the goal,
Who made the beauty and defines...
it in each valued soul!
(Thanks for the request, Jutilda)

Sorry, but I had to do another one. The weather is lousy and I started playing with some old images and this came to mind. |

Crab Musings
Some crabs have a nebula;
Some crabs have a closer home.
I like crabs.
Yum. |

SONNET FOR THE DAWN
A new day beckons hearts awake to sing,
As jeweled dew drops freshen every blade,
A flash of flicker-flight on morning wing,
Through Hemlock boughs renews the forest glade.
Eternity arises with the dawn,
In misty shrouded forests by the sea,
The sword fern camouflage the sleeping fawn,
Beneath the soaring Cedar canopy.
Awake my soul, your morning anthem raise,
To join the Varied Thrush in Matin̢۪s cry,
Leap up my soul, your Recreator praise,
In silent wonder seek him eye to eye.
The darkness fades, behold the new day breaks,
As all creation in Christ̢۪s light awakes.

From Strugnell's Sonnets
for D.M. Thomas
Wendy Cope
The expense of spirits is a crying shame,
So is the cost of wine. What bard today
Can live like old Khayyam? It's not the same--
A loaf and Thou and Tesco's Beaujolais.
I had this bird called Sharon. Fond of gin--
Could knock back six or seven. At the price
I paid a high wage for each hour of sin
And that was why I only had her twice.
Then there was Tracy, who drank rum and Coke.
So beautiful I didn't mind at first
But love grows colder. Now some other bloke
Is subsidizing Tracy and her thirst.
I need a woman, honest and sincere,
Who'll come across on half a pint of beer.

i just HAD to find it and put in in ..
Lumberjack Song
I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay.
I sleep all night. I work all day.
Mounties : He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.
Mounties: He cuts down trees. He eats his lunch.
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping
And has buttered scones for tea.
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.
Mounties : He cuts down trees. He skips and jumps.
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars?!
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Mama (or Papa in later versions)
Mounties : He cuts down trees. He wears high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra?!
Chorus : I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) okay.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.
Yes, I'm (He's) a lumberjack, and I'm (he's) ok-a-y.
I (He) sleep(s) all night and I (he) work(s) all day.

No I remember but SOMEBODY promised to use it as inspiration for an image. We are all waiting (drumming my fingers on the desk). |

posthumous's proposal for the conjoining of less than perfect photos with less than perfect poems truly speaks to me. Indeed his final paragraph (haven't learned the quote thingee) is a poem in itself which I should memorize.
Not that I do not enjoy the more perfect of either, in evidence here.
I trust that having already poemed a photo, melethia's, I can submit either here without further invitation. ?
