Congress Avenue Bridge
Week 7 (Feb 10 - 16)
Thousands and thousands of bats migrate to Austin each spring and live under this bridge. In the summer, one of those "must do in Austin" things is to go out to Townlake at dusk and watch the bats as they swarm out looking for insects. This link on the Bat Conservation website has information about the bats under this bridge. |

Not sure if I like this one in B&W. I fiddled around with a color version that I think I like better. We've had such an ugly winter this year. It's been really cold with almost no snow, just dead brown sticks everywhere. We finally got a big snow, so I had to get out and shoot for this week before it all melted away. This is the same creek from my week 6 shot, just a good distance upstream. |

They are the same architects that built Allianz Arena for the Soccer World Cup
ANd the National Stadium for the Beijing Olympics

Yipes I have been way too busy with work to get any good photos done. And next week I am leaving on vacation (thank God). So I will just post again when I get back in March! I've enjoyed what I've seen so far and will be looking forward to getting back to this thread then. Have a great couple of weeks!

And now for something completely different (for me)...
Week 8
I've held this shot in my workshop for a couple of weeks feeling it just wasn't that good. It̢۪s too flat, too stark, blown highlights, something̢۪s just not right.
But every time I browse through the workshop I find it capturing my attention. I don't know if it̢۪s the mood, the contrast along the ridgeline, the sun barely visible through the clouds or something all together different.
So I̢۪m going to throw it into the mix. I̢۪m really curious if it will resonate with anyone else. If it does, I hope you can help understand why. :p
