Taken late Monday afternoon by Lake Cuyamaca east of San Diego. I wish I had used a smaller aperture and slower shutter speed. I'm not sure how I ended up with these exposure settings.

I like this because it's one of those photos that make you gasp once you get past the thumbnail image. I want to learn how to take photos like these. There's so much depth and clarity (my landscape photos are yawn yawn flat). The light on the hills in the background is wonderful and the sky is beautiful. Such great detail in the foreground too. Beautiful!

lovely composition here Tom and I like the angle you took the shot from. Maybe just a tweek on the contrast to boost the overall feel to the image? Hmm, is that a touch of lens flair on the hills top right?

Once again I am caught up in your time of day. Whatever you did aperture and timewise, the viewer floats along the marshy foreground, pausing like the lone figure from time to time, towards the lightly treed gap between the hills.

Great sky and horizon. I get a bit lost in everything below the horizon. Maybe some dodge and burn to add highlights and shadows.

The scene is beautiful. It does not have to be everyhting sharp, I think the large aperture make the scene to look a little dreamy and peaceful. The person look a little bit off in the way that he's captured in the scene. He's does not do anything that ties him to the scene... he's just looking in a weird direction. Other than that I agree that he adds scale in the scene.

What a great scene and well captured. The sky is awsome and the person in the shot really adds a marker for the scale and depth of the shot, well done!

Tom! This is BEAUTIFUL! It looks like you DID use a small aperture. I can't believe you got this kind of depth of field with an F4!! But I love the hint of softness in the grasses and hillside. I don't think I'd bemoan not using a smaller aperture too much, because this looks stunning just like it is. One of my favorites of the day for sure!

I think this is an awsesome conversion. I love it. I'm wondering how it would look if the whites were a hair whiter. Great none-the-less. Cheers!

great shot - the person adds size perspective. I like the simplicity, the sky is wonderful and there is a pleasant, relaxed feel to the image. Kind of draws me in.

Very nice use of a wide angle lens, and suited quite well to B&W. There are those who won't like a person in the shot - to me it adds a great deal toward showing the scale of the view.
