On Sundays, the train station pace is quite leisurely, and many folks come down to the station with their friends and family to see them off. While the train is loading, they stand around and chat, either through the windows or doorways of the train.

This was going to be my Free Study for this month.

I love the diffuse shadows and the two women standing right outside the train add a story for me.

I love this, Deb! I think I would come to Germany just to photograph the train stations! Maybe next year. We could catch up for a coffee! You could meet me at the train station!! : )

Bold contrast is almost a foil(!) for the shimmery shiny train, which is at once the reason for the people and the structureand the vehicle of ephemera - here today and gone today. But of course there is a dog.

ooh, nice conversion to B&W Deb, am pretty sure this looks better than the colour version as the B&W lets you explore the image and the people therein. The guy and his dog stop my eyes from going through the image to the end of the train but it doesn't really bother me.

Nice B&W and a nice photo. I like the casualness of the people. I think of travel as hurrying from place to place but here everyone is relaxed. Love the sheen on the train and the patterns of the station.

More Bahnhof. I can smell it - a scent of metal, grit, old cigarettes and cold. Excellent atmospheric shot, Deb. The light is amazing.

There's something about European railway stations that evoke a feeling of days of old. Apart from the fact the women are wearing trousers, this could have been taken at anytime in the last 50 yrs. I like this very much.

Great street photo. I really like the light level here. Very interesting architecture and the train looks great. I like how no faces are visible so it can apply to any one. Nice lines as well.

Phenomenal lighting in this shot, wow! Love the stark contrast of the figures and the light bouncing from all over teh place. Great street shot!

Did you get something better? It must be good then. This is great. One of my favorite kind of looks in photography: urban, darkish, slice of life -- but in a different life than the one I live in. Maybe that's why I like it so much :) For me, the guy walking his dog just makes it. I love the mood.

Always something about the light in train stations: probably that great big diffuser they have a habit of using as a roof, really. Ask Jean-Jacques, he can't stop shooting Narbonne station for us. Enjoying this stuff immensely.

The two woman really make this street scene image. It is almost like they are saying please let me on. I'm glad you explained what was really happening.

Wonderful light, think the right half of the photo is the greatest part. Perhaps a crop?

This is beautiful. I especially like the two women mirroring each other.

Great image! The lines created by the train, and the people walking makes it feel like I'm being pulled into this photo. Yet another very good photograph from you.

Did I ever tell you the story when the big, fat-ass German Conductor kicked me off the train because I was litterally 1 second late for my train due to the fact that my train was 25 minutes late into the station. Thanks for the memory ;P
