A misty morning on my way to work.

Editing: cropped, converted from raw, noise reduction, b&w conversion, level adjustment (but I didn't wanted this too light), resized, sharpened.

Couldn't get rid of the grainy look, but I don't think it's disturbing.

Very atmospheric. Very low country. Somehow I associate the region you live with this type of fog/mist. You did a great job capturing the atmosphere.

I think the grainy look is perfect. It gives that sense of calm eeriness and makes you wonder what the boat pilots have to go thru to get to their destination.

hmm, the noise doesn't look camera generated and am thinking its the fog after sharpening the image?

Think you got the composition just right. As for making it lighter, maybe a touch more detail on the land would be better? Very nice as is mind you.

Love the grain! Totally works with this very simple moment.

I think that we (or at least I am) are programmed to want all of our pictures smooth and continuous. However, this photo really works well with the noise. It has not only that early morning, foggy feel but the grain adds a texture that well... works.

Beautiful shot. I feel the slight grain works well here to support the whole image. Otherwise it might be too soft - love this.

the fog certainly adds a tranquil feel. Good job!

Spooky :)

Don't know why you have such grain in such a low iso, but because most of it does not have much detail, you could blur it just by 1px and you would get a a dreamy kind of feel.

Great misty/foggy shot, I always like these, I wish we had fog more often, but I always try to get out and take photo's when it is. A lot of the time I think the graininess is just the light reflecting off of the mist and can't be helped.

I actually feel teeh grain adds to the mystique of this misty shot. Looks like a ghost ship coming from the fog, great job!

I don't either think its disturbing. I think it rather adds to the eerie look with the fog. I love the photo alot! The fog and the grain gives it kind of a nostalgic look. My favorite kind of look :)

I love low key shots, and this one's excellent. The grain really adds an artistic atmosphere.

Personally, I like it with the grain. It's one of those photos that needs to look a little gritty, and I certainly like it. That being said, as an experiment, I ran your photo through Neat Image just to see what the result would be. It took all or most of the grain away depending on the settings. My guess is that you did the noise reduction prior to re-sizing the photo. I've found that if you're looking for that "smooth" look, run the noise reduction after re-sizing.

Nice shot. Must be chilly, chilly cold over there. Looks cold, for sure.

I love fog, but it's not easy to shoot in it. Well done.

I like the grain/noise - it gives the picture a nice texture and feels the way fog feels. I also like it in the dark soft grays you have here - you made a good choice not to lighten it too much in my opinion.

The mist is suppose to be grainy - it looks cool, coming in out of the fog like that. The size of the boat creates the feeling of depth because the front of the boat is seen more clearly.
