Just wondered where people's "Best of 2007" entries ranked score-wise compared with their other 2007 entries? Did anyone find their shot was their highest scorer of 2007?

I'm going for the total opposite - my shot in that challenge eneded up being my 23rd highest ranked of 2007 (and I didn't join until April) can anyone beat this? ;-)

Nope, mine actually came in about mid-range for me.

I think part of what went on here is that many of us, myself included, entered a personal favorite rather than one that we knew would do well.

Mine was second best, but I didn't get to use time lapse and cool border tricks on this one. I will say in terms of just a photo this one far surpassed all of my other shots in 07.

Mine's exactly where I always end up if I have a semi-okay picture.. 5.8ish..

ditto. i thought that was the "challenge" of that challenge anyways. to find a photo that you find best and not to choose the one that you thought the majority of voters found best...cus that would be dnmc! :)))

My entry ended up as my 3rd highest. It was my second until rollover.

I had 31 other images score better in 2007 than my best of entry.

Yes, mine scored best of all my entries 2007 and it's one of my favourite shots! If it had scored lower, it would still be one of my favourites - but I am glad that others liked it, too!

I remember seeing that when I voted - I liked it (gave it a 7) but my girlfriend wasn't keen - however I was the one with my finger on the voting button ;-)

The average of my 12 Free Studies was 6.39, but my Best of 2007 scored 5.09.

I think it was my second lowest scoring entry of 2007, but it made me laugh.

I had 27 shots score better in 2007, but only 2 of them were Free Studies. My shot ended at 6.59, while my FS average was 6.20.
In the challenge I originally took the shot for, I ended with 6.53 at 12th place, which is 0.06 lower but 30 places higher.

My Best of entriy finished 29th highest of all my entries (55) for the year.

Not even close. I think half of my 2007 entries did much better than my Best of 2007, but you have to look at each challenge entry in the context of the challenge individually. It's almost apples to oranges when just attempting to compare it in general with all your 2007 entries. However, with that said, my very first photo of 2007 scored over a 7. My Best of 2007 scored just over 6.

Edit to add some math:

I did a very quick and dirty analysis of my 2007 entries. 36 total with a 5.8767 average. Six (6) free study challenges entered with a 6.2449 average. Best of 2007 with a finish of 6.1239 which puts it pretty close to my free study scoring average for 2007.

Mine scored 0.5286 below my average for the year. I only had 3 of my 27 entries score lower.

My entry was my 58th highest for 2007 out of 128 entries for the year.

What are you using to judge? :)

My entry was 44th best for 2007 out of 63 entries. 70% of my 2007 entries scored better than my Best of 2007. :)
I wasn't too worried though. I refuse to use duplicate shots and knew my entry was "subtle".

Mine is #6 out of my 31 entries in 2007.

I had seven entries in 2007 which outscored my "Best Of ..." , with this being the highest

I only had 8 entries (out of 47 total) in 2007 score lower than my "best of". quotes added for emphasis! :(
