Help, I'm looking for something, but cannot find it.
Where could it be?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Dear Slippy,
I've got your item, and I'm holding it for ransom. However, I've decided to keep it for myself -- hope you don't mind.
Love,

If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was. |

That's a serious misquote, Art: the proper phrase is If you love something, set it free. If it doesn't come back, hunt it down and kill it.
Obviously, Slippy is in the "hunt it down and kill it" phase, but is deficient on the skills of the hunter.
Pleased to have been of assistance :-)

That whole post could be much more concise (as well as precise)---
"Slippy is deficient." |

How can you lose something you never had in the first place?

Hey. I can see you. You are standing in the middle of the room, rubbing your hands together, calling out to your wife. You haven't moved one inch to the right or the left. You haven't looked in the dresser or anywhere that "the object" would be located. You are waiting for your wife to come into the room, go directly to where she told you to look and get whatever it is that you are looking for and walk over and place said object into your hands. I'd never suspect you of being one of those types, Mr Slippy. I am greatly dissappointed. |

I had one, too, but I lost it. Serendipity rules.

I wonder how many of y'all know that "Serendip" is an ancient name for what became Ceylon, and then Sri Lanka. There is an ancient tale of a king of Serendip who had two sons, and sent them out into the world to travel. It's a long story, but it's been summarized as follows:
"The two princes of Serendip, who in their travels always were discovering, by chance or by sagacity, things they did not seek>"
Wonderful things befell them in their travels, and THAT is how we got the word "serendipity"...

I just left Melbourne (and already wanna go back). Sorry, forgot to leave your gift behind, so I guess I'll just have to use it and let you know how much I enjoy it ;) |

Name that tune.
"Sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to dissagree.
Everybody's looking for something..."
If you lost your mind, I can't help you.
