Amazing. 178 scores of 6+. Can you imagine this coming in as far down as 178? |

I personally think that 6.5 is way to high for my image.
A snapshot really.
So the number should be 177. |

And imagine coming in below 150th with these:

Of course these are just ones that I like. Still, it is a real credit to the quality on display. Well done everybody.

Fishing for compliments? Your shot rocks! Takes a while to work out the perspective though.

The commenters liked mine but nobody else did. And I can't redo it for 17 years! |

Another surprisingly low ranked shot. Um, why can't you redo it for 17 years? |

That is a 17 year Cicada. They won't come out again until 2024.

No fishing - I just wanted to share a shot from a cool experience - and it ends up on my front page. I think it's ironic. |

Well since you asked, the scores and placement seem about right to me since 6 is exactly the score I gave it.

I don't think I've ever given out so many 6's and higher. There was some great stuff in this month's Freestudy.
PS.. I'm shocked that my photo was one of your four selected for this thread. I'm so glad you like it! |

I agree that the scores seem reasonable, and anyway they are totally subjective and democratic, and all that. It's the depth of quality (by my eyes) that blows me away - good shots finished relatively low due to thewre being so many other good shots. |

It was a lovely shot in the band I was making a point about. I think you might have done even better with a different title though. |

Heck no !!! I can't imagine how on earth this came in at 178.... These people are just plain nuts !!!!!!!!! 8-)..
To be quite honest, I was blown away by all the amazing images for this month and picked a couple of favorites which I don't do very often.. So, thank you for noticing my image & shame on anyone who didn't give it a 10.. lol

Not only were there so many excellent shots this month...but, I was shocked at how many comments I got...18 positive/constructive comments. That's huge to me. |

Mine came in 100th - it a been just above 6.3 a few times, but some lower votes in the last couple of hours brought it down. A bit disappointing, because at 6.3 it would have been my fifth highest score.... Anyway, it's my highest-scoring Free Study so far.
(Edit to add: sorry, I didn't quite make it to 20% voting, though I thought I had, so my votes didn't count after all).

Thanks for the compliment Paul! This shot was taken in Indian River, MI. (on Mullet Lake).
I agree...so many great shots this month!

Gotta hand it to you though, it beats my 6.45 score. :-)
