 Shot at about 2 hours before sundown. Taking macro's of flowers when I stumbled on this little guy. He was completely inside of this tiny flower and emerged for this photo only after my activity had annoyed him thoroughly. I'd never seen a grasshopper this small. A real find.

This jumped out at me for obvious reasons. I think it's inspired, superb and very arty - especially for a nature shot, which makes it even more interesting and outstanding. It has a slight abstract feel to it and the colors are magnificent.

I read the comments and had to laugh - just because they are so DPC-esque. Too blurry? The insect is muted? And the colors are oversaturated? Puleeze - I hope you took none of that to heart.

that is one cool bug - the blown out sections on the flower are a little problem but it is still pretty good 7

colours seem oversaturated, perhaps natural would be better. good composition, though

I have a particular love of pictures of flowers/plants. I think because they have such fleeting lives. The colours on this are amazing, The yellow against the blue background. The expert blending of yellow into blue And to top it off the amazing green blue insect as the main subject... I wish I could photo like that.
