With so many entries, and a tendency to speed vote large challenges, sometimes good shots get overlooked. Or I just have odd taste. (Most likely the latter.)

At any rate, here are some that were in my personal top ten, but not quite DPC's.

These I feel are underrated. They also got my highest score among others.

I know this scored pretty well, but I thought it should have been higher.

I'm confused...why have you grabbed these images, placed them in your portfolio, and then linked to your version instead of directly to the originals?

Hywind: to show others' pictures, do one of two things:
1) Use the icon

a) Find the image you want to link to at DPC.
b) Copy the number at the end of the URL.

For example, for this shot:


you just want to copy "492070"
c) In your forum post, click the little icon second from the right that looks like two rectangles. Paste in the number and hit "ok" and you're done.

or
2) Type {thumb}NNN{/thumb}
replacing { } with [ ] and NNN with the number found at the end of the image's URL.

And I'd suggest that you remove the other people's entries from your portfolio. :)

Thanks WriteHeart! There were so many great photos I was shocked mine scored so high. There was only .2882 difference between mine (placed 33) and 10.... It was also a PB for me.

They are all originals, the first time I did not post them correctly, and they only showed as thumbnails when you clicked on them. And this is the only way I KNOW how to do it.

Ah, I see. In that case, I would recommend checking out levyj413's post above. He gives a nice quick little step by step on putting a thumbnail image in a forum post that links to another user's image.

I was so shocked at the lowness of my own as well as others' sI had a zillion shots I loved, so I went with the one that I liked the best - I guess flowers aren't in the lovefest on DPC. ;~D

When there are so many to look at, I guess it's a law of averages. When there isn't a specific subject matter, or criteria, sky's the limit, and everybody has their opinion. Funny though, you go to other sites and flowers ande the ones that get favorites and comments. OH well. I'm not complaining. That's just what I've concluded.

Just a small sample of great work that didn't even make the top 300. Stuff that could, IMO, easily be top 20 in any other challenge. Such is the nature of this Free Study Beast.
