Alan, Yes! That is a great capture of a stunning place. I hope to visit there someday.
[quote=alansfreed]
The edge of the hillside went straight down for something like 2,000 feet to the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean below, and there were no guard rails or anything between you and the steep drop off. It was really an amazing place.
How 'bout your favorite...?

Thanks! It's one of those places I'd love to visit again purely because I'd love to unleash the digital camera on it :)
Another cool thing about this location was that the only access to this spot was via chairlift. It was much like a ski lift that went up the mountain. Along the way, you go right above homes and gardens. You're literally 4-5 feet above people who are out tending to their yards! |

my favorite DPC pic would have to be jenarom's Sofia. That's just about the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
The favorite from my personal collection is this one I took of the World Trade Center 3 weeks before the attacks. I apologize for the quality because I don't have a high-res version at the moment.

Wow this is hard, especially seeing all of your favorites, which I really admire, too! But my all time favorite has to be this one. This is Dr. Farrell Edwards, who just completed research that will revolutionize energy production, and this is him at work--the photo should have done much better than it did. The light on the hair/head, his computations--it's wonderful!
Or this one--or maybe this or this Agh! I can't decide!
My own favorite has to bethis recent shot, just because it was so fun setting up the bricks and watching people's reactions as I compared my model with my map of Stonehenge. Plus, I like the grandeur and sense of scale I was able to pull out of the shot. Whew!

I have looked at this thread so many times today and suddenly it hit me what my favorite photo here really is, I have a few favs but I have this one photo that really has moved me from the very moment when I saw it in voting. //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=24523
I love to take photos of empty park benches cause they make me think just empty and lonely the world can be at times, and how we go through times where we feel so desserted by everyone. I like to think of park benches as a way to meet a new friend. This photo made me want to go over and start a conversation with that old man. |

Oh wow - frisca just pointed out to me that you picked my shot. :) That's really cool, thanks. It's one of my favorite candids (behind my "Feeling Quite Alone" print).
I don't know what my OWN all time fave shot is. I'll think and post them here tomorrow.
Thanks again for making my night! lol

Originally posted by JasonPR: I just looked at a bunch of Ansel Adams photos and find it bizarre that anyone would pick the rose on driftwood as the best. I think it's an excellent photo as well, but how do you make a choice?!
Anyway, while looking though some of the stuff, I found this photo by Ansel Adams from Yosemite and I immediately thought of one of my Yosemite photos. Of course, mine isn't nearly as good, but it still made me smile. :)
I'm not sure if this thread is about our favorite photo of our own or by other artists here on DPC or in general. I think my favorite photo of my own is one I took three years ago of the Matterhorn in Switzerland with a sheep directly in front of it. I took it with a disposable camera. As far as other people's stuff, it's really hard to say. There are so many great photos on here. |
I much prefer your photo to Ansel's more power to it. |
