Someone could take a photo of a line of cocaine and post it to DPC. The photo of cocaine is not illegal, DPC cannot get in legal trouble for hosting it. The photographer could get in trouble for possessing the drug, but that's between the photographer and his local law enforcement. DPC doesn't come into it.
All DPC need be worried about is the legality of the actual photos it is hosting, not the legality of how they were taken or who took them. |

Having finally slogged my way through this thread, and as a parent of teenagers, I have this to say. I can see no reason why DPC should not allow underage photographers to submit to nude challenges, as long as the model meets the legal age requirements for Virginia, USA.
The decision of allowing the underage photographer the choice of shooting nudes should be made between the parents/guardians and their child/teen photographer as per their own personal morals and beliefs. I do not see a need for DPC or any of its members to make that decision for them. |

I am not wanting to fight anyone just would like to see a formal discussion on this. |
thats what this forum is about, right? we want to look at whether or not DPC should do anything different concerning youth and Nude Challenges. it's not like we're making new rules here, we're looking at different opinions on the topic. so far i've seen respectable views from different people and i'm glad to hear comments. i'm not saying we NEED to make new rules, i'm saying that from my perspective it could be wise. so formerlee, i'm sorry, but i'm not relocating. :P

Not really.. we just want to debate the subject. We really have no say in the issue at all. The SC could read this and take our opinions into consideration, but it's all their decision. |

I'm sorry, but I've just got to pick up on this... :)
So you need the DPC rules to be in place to help you make decisions about your personal moral boundaries? - As an 'underage photographer' do you think it's right or wrong for you to take pictures of nude 18+ models? If that's the question you need to answer then using this thread as a place to hear different points of view is fair enough. To start poking around in the DPC rules because it 'could be wise' is a different matter.

as an underaged photographer i don't think it's wrong to take artistic pictures of 18+ models, but i also don't think it should be done due to controversy that will (as shown with noisemakers case) arise. heck, if it weren't for our spooty laws i'd enter nude self-portraits. i think it would be better to just wait it out, and when the time comes, just do as i see fit. the reason i brought up the rules, is that i thought that was the origional intent of the forum; do discuss if dpc should do anything. and why the rules? to protect the dpc community. but hey, the site admins know what is best for the community and i have no doubt that whatever the results, it'll all be good. : )

my intentions in this statement were to clear up that this is no matter to leave dpc over, and it is only a personal opinion that the admins should at least consider changes if they see fit.... ok ; )

To be honest, I can't see anyone leaving DPC over this. What I *can* see people getting upset over is if more rules are introduced regarding the whole nudity thing; it's caused enough controversy in the past. We've managed to get through a Nude challenge fairly unscathed, apart from this relatively small issue.
Status quo. |

well, it's not really up to us though is it? if the admins wanted to make more rules, then what could we do? what if they chose not to? it's not up to us, and just like the "no food" rule that the other forum has, you won't be able to please everybody. and honestly, if someone was ridiculous enough to leave the site just because a rule was or was not made, then they'll have to deal with it. and if you want to know where the whole leaving thing came up, read back in the forum where formerlee said something about relocating. I'm telling him that i can live with the rules.

The "no food" rule is for one (two) specific challenge(s), however, not site-wide. It was written specifically because they didn't want a bunch of people saying "Well, I think Brocolli is good" and then having 95% of the world vote it down because Brocolli is the spawn of some vegetable-satan. |

site wide or not, it's still a rule. however i do admire the point that the comparison was, since the food rule is not as monumental.

Actually the hippy people in the 60s made this point and changed the drinking laws for a bit in most states. I think it's funny that it still comes up. |
