ok, im not sure about so i'm taking this to the People ... : )
does the subject of the photo have to be reflecting something specific or can it just be light (yes, i know: all reflections are "just light" but I'm using that phrase to distinguish diffuse or non specific shininess (ie. reflections) from reflections of specific objects, i.e. trees, my cat, a block of cheese, etc.
for example if i photographed my grandmother's beautiful silver tea service all shiny and sparkly, would that get voted down for not meeting the challenge?
Please, if you answer, do your best think like the average LMV.
Thanks : ) |

Well... that's a good question! I think that people are going to be taking into account how compelling the reflected item is (dang! You stole my block of cheese idea! :)
I guess my answer would be that I would hope to see some creativity in this challenge. A sparkly tea service shot itself, IMO, may not fare as well as a sparkly tea service shot that has an interesting collection of items in the reflection. |

I'm tempted to just answer 'yes' and leave it like that. But I bet you'll get lose points for not having an 'obvious subject' in your reflection, even though there is nothing that says it has to be there.
Of course you could shoot what you describe, make a great picture and just be happy with that, regardless what a majority vote says ?

Dumb question... what's an "average LMV?"
Late Model Vehicle? Last Minute Voter? Long Milk Van? Lost Milli Vanilli?
I'm sure the answer is obvious... :) |

Of course, in theory, that's possible. But then why enter it into a contest? : )

LOL> I like lost milli vanilli the best, but no, it's a ref to an acronym coined in another thread 'Literal-Minded Voter'.

Ah -- many thanks for the definition... I wouldn't have guessed that one, and I must have missed the other thread. Girl, you know it's true. :) |

the other thread, which currently seems to be getting lots of action is 'relevance to the challenge' ...
hey did you really sing that or were you only moving your lips? :) |

My guess is, to the average LMV, it will be voted down harshly...
You'd get extra points from me for 'out of box' thinking, but I don't think it would offset the Box Set :)
