I've added a new grinder girl pic. I went for a more stylized look here, trying to give it a more "cartoonish" look. What do you think?
better than the "original" ?

I concur, and I love this shot for more than just the titilation effect! Well done.

I like them both Leroy. Can't choose. I like the sheen of the first one, but I like the dynamic pose of the second one.

I kinda like the new one myself...more in your face...also like the jeans...make the shot more real, not saying the first one isn't "real"...you see guys with out their shirts doing hard work all the time...why not girls...I like the shot a lot. Great colors

I hope I don't offend you with these comments, but I much prefer the original.
The lighting in this one is a tad harsh, with the ensuing result being that you have several shadows which IMHO detract from the overall quality of the image.
Just one man's opinion.

Why does one have to be better than the other, if you were going for a different look? I like them both, they're just.... different! :) |

I wasn't too fond of the original - i believe comments/thread postings explained why, but I do like the second shot. Looks more realistic and her expression fits the shot better. Colors are better and more natural, the sheen is gone which I thought just wasn't right, nicer composition IMO - not as posed/forced. (still wish she had on safety goggles though - then she would be hot - hot as fire... ;))

I like the pose on the new one. Nice. I like the richer color too. But I still like the original one best. It's the pov and the texture of the skin (the sheen) and the look on her face. |

Original is better. New one does not have the "it" factor the original does. |

If I'm honest your model has not been oiled properly, maybe I could help?

OK, I knew I was gonna have to explain that....
The first one has a number of factors that come together to make it HOT. (Admittedly, this is probably largley due (no pun intended) to her voluptuous hips. Which I personally find appealing.)
The second, well, its a fine photo but shows no hips, so is not nearly so hot.
So, shallow me, its a sex thing :) |

Actually, I have a shoot with her tomorrow for SuicideGirls.com. No power tools will involved this time :-( Just candles and all black clothing (in various states of undress) and a black background. Her idea is that only her skin will be visible in the shots. Good thing she has pasty white skin, or exposure would be a royal pain in the butt.

Who hires you to do these things, and how do you advertise something like this???
And what do you charge? |

For the suicidegirls.com shoot, the model hired me, as she has worked with me before and trusts me. Since I work with her on my own projects, I won't be charging her anything.
Typically, I charge in the area of $150-200 for a "boudior" session. A lot of my advertising is word of mouth, I do a bit of advertising in local beauty salons and such and finding that Myspace.com is a great place to advertise.
I also do quite a bit of time for photos work for my own projects, if I find a model that fits a particular need.

Not for free, no... but they do have a page on myspace.com, where you can find quite a few potential models that want a good photog to do pics for them. SG only accepts "professional" quality images.

I like the new one better - as someone says it seems in the style of "guy working with shirt off" and as such, strikes me as having more of a point beyond "hey look it's a nude girl!" :-) |
