I predict my lowest score ever. This does not smell like a DPC entry. However, I like it and think Mapplethorpe's portraits are incredible. You can see more (including the one I copied) here:

I was disappointed to see a Warhol portrait so similar to this one. You are more arch, though (literally), and your hand gesture is even more phallic than his. I'll give you some points for that. :)

Excellent portrait. Very hard to achieve that kind of detail in dark clothing agains a black background. I love the lighting.

It's definitely "Mapplethorpe-inspired" (why haven't I seen any homo-erotic nudity from anyone, by the way?), but it's not quite got his "feel." Nevertheless, a commendable effort.

Great tribute, the pose is perfect...I am a little distracted by the fact that I am not sure if you wanted to blend in to the background, or not.... but I still like it very much !

nice pose, and I love the way that the models skin is the only real detail. Makes an interesting shot.

I was also going to do mapplethorpe because of his easy sensuality and lighting. You have captured both. My second favorite entry and deserving of a 10.

The pose of this image is striking. I loike how you actually included a web address ;) Better safe right? The overall tonalities of this image is wonderful. And the placement of the hands is just right.

Nice job! I did look up the link and saw the andy worhol pic in which you based this shot. Impecable exposure and BW conversion. Quite the tribute!

Excellent tribute photo in the style of the photographer. It's probably not the style that's the most (in)famous but true nonetheless. Well conceived, composed and executed. Love the expression on modle's face and the way you've cuaght it.
