Back at 111 votes I was at a 6.0000 score and I thought I may break the barrier with this one. I guess it is not to be :( |

Well, a ton of views but only 175 votes. That's only 20% of the viewers voting. Maybe I got some multiple "looks!" |

Yep, I think I know too. Only one picture I see that would generate that type of traffic. Cool image!! (if I'm correct in my assumption) Nice score too! |

This challenge surprises me a bit. (Well, the voters do, not the challenge itself.) Everyone here is used to using USM. It's one of the basic steps we almost always apply at some point before posting here, right? We know our shots aren't tack-sharp straight out of the camers unless we have great equipment and when I'm voting I take that into account, but comments lead me to believe others aren't?
I don't care, I like my shot and I think that with very minimal PP it'll look great :) |

Yeah, a couple of my comments have been harsh. The image is good as a straight shot, but really nice with a little PP love. Keeping that in mind, most of my voting was based on how the photos related to others in the challenge. There seem to be a lot of cast offs thrown in, and a handful that were recognizeable from other current challenges, which affected my scoring. (Although I admit I have two entries from the same outing running right now, I made damn sure to pick photos that were as different as possible but both worthy of inclusion.) Another part for me was asking myself "Would I have bothered to PP this myself?" All too often the composition was a disaster and if they were mine I wouldn't have bothered to even toss them into one of my photo essays (which I don't assemble for quality so much as for establishing the feel of a place or event). If a bad photo wouldn't look significantly better with PP, that definitely played a role in my scoring.
