| Sure. Mine isn't very spectacular - either the score or apparently the picture. I swear, it's the last time I enter a flower. Really. Well, until they have a flower challenge, but even then I think I'll skip entering flowers. Ursula and Banmorn can do the flowers - I'll just watch. :-) |

I've been getting alot of comments, about my bokeh being limited, or isn't bokeh its dof. I think the term bokeh needs to be redefined.

Fluctuated between about 5.98 and 6.13, more steady now of course ... I thought I would do pretty good on this one, new personal high - although it is only my third challenge ...
It is not as much the score, but the comments are sooo nice ... thank you all!

He he he... no seriously. My first goal on DPC was to get a 6 average on a shot.
So now, having scored a couple of 6's, the bar is raised.
Then I wanted to beat my personal best, which I did in the Beatles challenge.
Then I thought... mmhhh... now's the time to try for a ribbon.
And with a score like that, and having seeing Hotpasta and a few others' scores in this thread, I know I wont ribbon.
So even though it may seem high, it wont make top three, so I have this kinda "whats the point" feeling that I cant shake?
Does that make sense?

Ya, I get it all the time, but still, enter challenges just trying to beat your average. Make it a goal to pull your average up by a tenth or more. Makes scores like this more enjoyable.
Plus it's your personal best dude! Revel in that!

First, an offtopic to compliment jusdino4it for gracious consideration of the replies to his comments. It shows admirable restraint and flexibility of opinion in someone of his years :)
Kay, now to the topic.... griping! :)
Sigh, I really thought I had figured out what voters want this time. I've gotten at least one 10 with a comment that it was a fave of the challenge, I even got mistaken for one of the higher-scoring members. Yet my score still sits at 5.6 and it's not even a flower!! I'm gonna go sob disconsolately now...
eta; ... and I followed up my 10 with a 4. Okay, that's it, I'm going to bed!
Stoopid neighbours and their stoopid yappy mutt! Sigh.. no sleep... and even bigger sigh, coming back in to find only one new vote, and THAT being a TWO! Ah well, it can only get better tomorrow, right? RIGHT??

OK, this is discouraging. After dropping from 5.7 to 5.4 I got hit with a 1. Yes, it's a flower but it's got great bokeh, color, contrast and composition. Why do people feel the need to hand out 1's with no comment as to why or how to improve?
After cruising through my first 3 challenges care-free, I'm starting to see what people mean about a thick skin. |

I must say I am disappointed with votes so far... I don't think my work is that bad, although my point is not that bad, could be better.
This is my opinion of course, everyone's taste difference (duh)... Maybe I am hoping the real voters (whatever that means) votes at the end and I hope I get something better... (keep my fingers cross)
