These squares got 10 from me but scored under 5.5, the midpoint of a 1 to 10 scale. You can see my reasons in the picture comments:

My hats off to these photographers. They all get honorary memberships to the DPC Underground!

Anyone else have underground favorites?

Had to dig deep in the underground to find this beauty...

The F-word on the hand.

Most people did not make "squareness" an essential element of their composition. Most images would have worked the same no matter what crop they used.

A few images that used "squareness" especially well that deserve special mention are:

now this shot did well...but really is so much more than its score..I think it really captures the spirit of shooting without worrying about the score..

and yes I know this did well, and yes Joey always does well....but this had nothing about it that is typical..it is creative and I think most interesting...

and my reason for posting this is simply because it is brilliant..and hell a good score doesn't stop something from being underground...

oh well, I could expect this, but I really like the photo MYSELF, and that's what it's about, right!?

Thanks for mentioning my picture, posthumous! I just posted a thread here where I explain a bit about the composition.

Hey thanks Steve for appreciating my entry ;) It was a fun thing to do and almost had my skinny behind arrested :)

It was a fun shot and something I've wanted to do but haven't found the perefct challenge until this one ;)

Cheers!

Thanks for the mention of my pic

I agree that the images in this thread have a lot of merit. Maybe one day the 'underground' will become the 'overground' - but then we'd have to start a new 'underground'....:-)
