The Two Megapixel Collection, Olympus 2100 UltraZoom (I *loved* that camera, and only let it go when the 10D came out.)

1.3 mega pixels of wonder

My A100's lens seemed to be biased toward macro shots, so those were the sharpest looking ones..

Guess you can't consider it a ghetto camera (still a point and shoot), but my best photo is probably this one, with my G5:

Olympus C2100-UZ(2mp)

My best-selling photo on iStock. I don't like the look of it in the challenge version - my editing skills back then were worse than my camera.

kodak d3200 0.9mp not editting except grayscale and copyright crap. Not the best but the first i found.

same camera, printed as a transpancy and made into a cyanotype.
There are buttloads of under one mp camera pics in my portfolio - my DD kids used them.

2 mp is the big leagues compared to this camera - and yet the picture quality far suppasses many 2mps pictures i have seen. Goes to show it the equipment is not the place to point the finger.

Great work guys... I just want to show that the P&S can do outstanding work...

Indeed...it's not the instrument. Though its quality can add nuance the artistry comes from the operator.

My P&S permitted an accelerated self-taught course in composition and mechanics, and resulted in an explosion of creativity that continues. I laugh inwardly when people ask what photo school I went to or what courses I've taken. Still making lotsa mistakes, but learning from them, & up to self-assignment #193 at home sine 3/04. :-)

I agree. I never got creative or expressive til I owned the 950. I tried so much w/ that camera, things I couldn't afford to do w/ my 35mm SLR. That little camera made me rethink photography beyond f/stops and shutter speed and guide numbers.

I have an old Nikon Coolpix 910 its a japanese model and 1.2MP Ive never used it to enter here but I will never sell it either, the condition of it is amazing almost brand new.. Can someone please explain how I could convert it to shoot in IR, Ive always wanted to set a digicamera to shoot just IR then I would have the perfect excuse to carry it around again.. As it is now, it is as new and shoots normal pictures. I believe by removing the IR filter in front of the sensor is the way to do it but im not sure and do not wish to find out by trail and error.. if anyone has done this to a camera or knows of any links I would greatly appreciate it.

The P&S cameras of today are fantastic, The CONTAX U4R and the older SL300R are super cameras, I just got the new Sanyo Xacti E6 and use it a lot, the macro mode goes to 1CM @ 10MP (imposed) actually it is HQ6MP. My girlfriend still shoots with her Contax even though she has FULL access to any of my cameras/lenses. I am always surprised at the quality these new small P&S cams produce even using pic bridge direct to printer the quality of L size prints is amazing. I always carry the Sanyo around with me but only take my Nikons out when I am INTENTIONALLY going out to shoot thus missing some classic moments.. god bless P&S cams, I love mine.

Not sure if the 910 can do IR without modification....really, you want a good camera with good auto white balance for IR. It probably isn't worth spending the time and money to modify your 910, although there are places on the net that specialize in IR modifications for cameras. You are just better off searching ebay for an Olympus 2020z or Nikon Coolpix 950...those are the best two older cams for IR photography, and normally run around 100 bucks or so.

Hope this helps!
