Oh well....my first challenge & I had to rush it last minute. Maybe it will get better??? Or maybe worse and really be a "dead end"....

I stepped WAY, WAY, WAAAAAAAY out of my comfy little box for this one and submitted a shot that's NOTHING like what I normally shoot. So far it's doing ok but I'm sure in the morning I'll wake up to the 5.2 I expect.

Not bad for a newbie and my first entry. I'm pretty satisfied, although it is going up and down. Started at over a 5.5. I keep hoping it will go up and stay up! BUT I will take an even fiver! LOL....The one comment seemed to love it!

I have to tell you, as to what someone asked about what the voters are looking for. Those that did dead end signs, or anything that had to do with the cliche` of drugs, alcohol, etc. did not get the best of a vote from me as to theme depiction. I am leaning more towards really creative shots, and something that represents a dead end that I would have never thought of. Some of you have some delicious shots that I could never dream of how you got during the short time frame without living somewhere absolutely gorgeous and fun! LOL....

Can´t complain, I haven´t been in a challenge since "complementary colours II" so I did the "took a shot I took that week and made it fit the challenge" route and I really thought I would be scoring under a 5 so I am quite happy, I must admit that I personally think my shot is in a gray area with meeting the challenge... At least I like my shot and if it holds steady I might even grab a current high score for my camera :)

Your Fuji is perfectly capable of oversharpening right out of the camera, if you set sharpening at highest. Also, increasing contrast with brightness/contrast will introduce the same sort of "look" if carried to extremes, as will hyper-saturation of colors. So there's a lot of ways to look "oversharpened"...

| Well I cannot say much about my photo, obviously, but yet again I feel I have one of the 'original' entries and as such it is not doing so well. One comment, short but sweet. Sitting at a 5.4627 with 69 votes. At least one of the numbers is good. |

I thought it was going to do pretty good and the comments say the same thing (I even have ppl who think it will ribbon)....Im guessing its because my photo is not dark/moody other than that im not sure.
