For the best sky contrasts, nothing beats a CPL :) |

why is there "banding" at the top of your photo? |

It has banding 'cuz it's only 33 Kb, real small. Where there are fine gradations, they tend to band up like that in snall files.
HELL of a nice shot, jelly!

Using the Save for Web option in PS instead of Save As takes care of that most of the time.

Now I am confused. What is the difference between High Contrast and Low Key?

Colour contrast should work well for this challenge.

I went for high contrast on purpose with my 'Live Music' entry, and got many comments about the blown-out highlights and the dark areas.
Here's the image:
Would you think that they are a no-no for this challenge as well? |

This could be a color contrast - but I would read the challenge as being more than just a color or light and dark contrast, but could include a subject contrast as well. Any thoughts? |

I think if you present this in an obvious and easy to understand way, it would be great!

The colors are bright but they don't contrast, so it's actually more of a LOW contrast shot. For colors to contrast, they have to be opposed to each other on the color wheel. Like Red and GReen, for example; THOSE contrast. So do Blue and Yellow.
