I Love it...
Had I been able to log on last week, I would have given it a 9! Really great. I do find myself questioning the lighting balance though... Wonder if it might have poped more with as a high-key photo, or a bit more contrast range... ie, a whiter white in the highlights and a deeper black in the shadow, more depth of shadow in the floor area, and wall behind. Yes I know that you would have lost a bit more of the detail in the blacks beneath the hand... but I still wonder if that loss might have been worth the PoP!
Just my thoughts, and still I love it... Wish I could have it for my twin son's room... They'd get a kick out of a print like this!
Kudos!

Looks like one of the gangster characters from the most recent Dick Tracy movie. I'll definitely come back to read what/who this is. Good job. |

Althought the character is quite cool... A Mcfarlane toy is hardly surreal in itself. 3 |

To me, this appears to be more "about" a surreal statue or figurine than a surreal photo of something. In other words, somebody's artwork is doing ALL of the work. I suspect that'll make a difference to many voters. |

Overall a touch dark (I don't think it's my monitor calibration but it could be) but an excellent image. Very intriguing, has a cartoon feel about it. Just want to zoom in and see more detail! 8 |

Hmmm thats just creepy! I dont really think a guy who looks like this could be a bodygaurd, but imaging though. I like the black and white and the ciggerettes hanging out of his mouth. |

Pretty cool. BUT it apparantly is a violation of the Subject Matter basic editing rules, the , and I quote:
"Subject matter must comply with the DPChallenge Terms of Use. The following are additional restrictions on subject matter:
Artwork: Literal photographic representations of existing works of art (including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, computer artwork, computer monitors, and televisions. A literal representation is one which is composed in such a way as to compel the voter to rate only the work of art represented and not the artistic decisions made by the photographer (e.g., lighting, composition, background elements, etc)" |

I don't have a clue how you did this, but it is a fine photo. I think making it B&W instead of giving it the typical surreal pastels takes away a little bit of 'punch' from the image but it still rates very high for me.
Good work! |
