I worked at the bibb mill co back in 1990. I was assigned to 2nd shift with only one other co-worker. We worked in shipping and our job was to load trucks. One day when we went in our supervisor told us we had to work on the fourth floor that evening to get a shipment ready that was behind schedule. The forth floor of this plant was only accessible by one freight elevator that you had to work yourself. The mill was around 90 years old. My co-worker and I went up to the fourth floor around 3:00 pm and was to work up there until our shift ended at 11:00pm. The mill is ¼ of a mile long and wide. When you get off the elevator you have to unlock what we called the cage to get in. They had the floor locked down because all finished products were kept there until shipment. We started to work and everything was ok. But around 9:00 or so we had to walk back to the back of the floor which overhangs the river and get some more carts to put the boxes on. We were walking down the main alley between the boxes, which were stacked about head high. As we approached the back of the floor we notice a woman walking in circles around an old broken loom that was very old. We were about 300 ft away. I yelled, hey you are not to be up here. What are you doing? She continued to walk around the machinery without responding to my co-worker and me at all. We then noticed as we took a few more steps that she was different. She was dressed in a whitish dress, kind of like you would see women works wear in the 30’s or so. We stopped walking and stood side by side as we watched her walk around that loom. I looked at my co-worker and he look at me then we looked up at her as she faded away. Now I mean faded away, not walk away. I turned to look at my co-worker with disbelief and he was about 100 ft behind me running towards the elevator. Somehow I caught up with him but the elevator was down on the first floor. We banged on the door of the elevator for someone to send it up to us. The longest wait of our lives.

To give you a little idea of how long and big the mill was here is a picture I found on the we that shows it from an areal view..

Reminds me of when I was in the Navy, stationed at Mare Island in California. Many large, old, Civil War era buildings, including a hospital where they had a morgue on the fifth floor (said with an ominous echo). The buildings had very long, dark hallways and we had to stand watch and walk through the halls with a puny little flashlight. People reported hearing screams from the fifth floor (don't forget the spooky echo) and several people got introuble because they refused to stand watch in that building. I wandered up to the (((fifth floor))), which was being used as a storage room.

I snooped around and saw the tiled operating room and you could see what some claimed to be blood stains on the floor and walls. I got chills. As I headed down the stairs, about one and a half flights down, I heard a shreek from above that set my hair on end! I dropped the flashlight and RAN down the stairs and stayed by the front door until my shift was over and my relief got there. I never told him - heck, why deprive him of the experience? ;-) I also never returned to the (((fifth floor)))!!

Here's a pic of one of the buildings - there were 2 other, longer ones adjacent to it. The one to the right (not seen) was the one with the morgue.

edit: typo. Also note that I started this story at the same time as Scott's - eerily similar - 'cept I didn't see anything just heard screams. AND I was (((alone!)))

wow scott. That is an amazing story. Did you tell the boss? What was your and your co workers reactions? Did the other guy believe it?
I remember one night i was driving on a quiet country road. I saw a headless person in the middle of the road. He/she was dressed in jeans and a blue flannette shirt. When i approached in the car, it ran up a hill and i mean ran, straight up a hill that you couldnt even climb up. I did research on the area and a bikie was found dead there with his head in the passenger seat of his car. Now that freaked me out a little.

We didn't even talk about it the rest of the night. We went back to our regular assigned area to work. Which is on the other side of the plant on the ground floor and went into the break room and just sat there till 11:00. Very wild we just looked at each other. When we would go to say something about it we would just stop before we could get it out. But the next day we did tell our supervisor that we didn't get the job finished and my co-worker told him that he refused to work on that floor again. I agreed with him. Super asked why but we never told him. He looked at us and a few days later he said, "I understand!" and walked away. I don't' know if he knew we saw something or not.
In case you didn't see the picture i added here is a view of how big the mill was. you can see the top floor, how long it is.

This photo was taking without a flash , 35 mm film..
I went by myself and took a photo that looks like it has angels in it... Anyways at this particular photo here , to me the thumbnail looks like it has a face on it... This is a spring like down behind a church that has been there since the 1800's... Many families and lots of generations..with the same names are from these parts...

History on some of the old churches near me //www.laurenscounty.org/history/dcreek.html...I even think that I might have overaggaration to the dates and it seems extremes but for real I do remember the date on one tomb being from 1800... so thats for sure a lot of years for the dead to be roaming...

WTVM Video Shows Possible Ghost in Springer Opera House
A "ghost hunt" in the Springer Opera House last night by News Leader 9 Reporter Jason Dennis turned up far more evidence than expected.

Exclusive video shows what paranormal investigators call "spirit orbs" moving around inside the Springer, the historic local theater recently named one of the "top ten" haunted places in America. WTVM was accompanied on the ghost hunt by professional investigators who were looking for any real scientific evidence of ghosts in the Springer.

In one piece of video, a ball of light can be seen zipping through a room and settling near a window. In another segment, an "orb" comes into a room and touches one of the professional investigators, who immediately bolts from the room.

WTVM will air some of the exclusive video today on News Leader 9 at Noon and more on News Leader 9 at 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m.

It's too bad that you guys who had such great ghost stories didn't have cameras with you at the time. I keep mine with me all the time, just in case the little girl that haunts our house shows up. I managed to squeeze off this shot one night.

Funny thing about this topic. I used to and still do sometimes do paranormal investigation. using geiger counters, electromagnetic field meters, night vision equip., etc... if you go to Yahoo and look up "North Texas Paranormal" you will see the number 1 spot is a link to my photography website....I guess I forgot to change the keywords! LOL Anyway, I had been interviewed by many newspapers, radio stations in the Dallas area...also did "Good Morning Texas" on channel 8 (ABC Television) a couple years back. Ghostly images are something I loveeeeeeee to see pop up from time to time... anything that is difficult to explain or impossible for that matter is very interesting to me. GREAT SHOT!!! Thanks for sharing~!

I don't really believe in the concept of ghosts or aliens. All these things are good to explain away our otherwise fleeting existence. Religiously, at least Catholic-wise, there are no ghosts, everyone is one way or the other within minutes/hours. but there are demons, and possession, I presume, that can mimmick your loved ones or such- that is why "channelling" dead spirits is not really a good idea, because its not the person you are talking to, just minions.

One scary thing is the concept of telling a loved one a "key word" or if I die, i will come back as a ghost and give you an Oreo cookie or a "password" thats not good either, the "demons" if you believe in such, know all your tricks and passwords.

Anyway. Do ghosts really make sense? are people lingering about in the astral plane? are they tied to objects? factories? traumatic events? Do you know how many battlefields there are? how many tramatic deaths throughout time. there should be ghosts everywhere! Neanderthal ghosts. Indian ghosts, settler ghosts modern ghosts, roman ghosts. Hell- in china you'd be bumping into so many ghosts you would have to charge them rent.

Heres a tip. Ghosts don't exist. We all like to be scared a little, and the brain is fascinating, but if you think there are ghosts, go find a good psychotherapist or a church.

I never saw any ghosts, but now that you mention it, I did have some really weird visions the last time I took LCD...

Personally I have not seen anything like that in my pictures [like in yours] but I have seen them on the net where people were showing them and also seen them on TV when they did shows about this stuff.
