What kind of sites do you surf???

"The Raelian Revolution, the world's largest Atheist, non-profit UFO related organisation - over 60,000 members in 90 countries - working towards the first embassy to welcome people from space... destroying the myth of god and sweeping the world with the most politically incorrect and fearlessly individualistic philosophy of non-conformism"

This is the last you will hear from me, this thread is about Karol Wojtyla, not your ideas.

RE: zigzag's link... "an advanced race of people who created all life on Earth thousands of years ago"

Yikes! That's pretty funny, but let's keep it serious for a while.

I think it's more goofy and misinformed than inappropriate.

I work in PR and we had something on the wire. The pope isn't dead yet.

He was just talking about a movie. I don't see anything inappropriate about that. South Park will probably do an episode about it.

Just heard from a reporter on the ground in the vatican.
A semi-official report came out that he had passed away which was promptly denied about 5 mins later. No one knows exactly what the state of play is.

Remember The Godfather pt 3 is fiction.

DONT ASSUME BROTHER...THE GODFATHER PT.3 IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY. DON'T LIVE IN DENIAL

... no need to yell ...

And please remember many movies are "based on a true story" but introduce elements of fiction to improve dramatic content. Example: the recent movie based on the true story and person of Helen of Troy. Lots of dramatic elements introduced there. Just an example.

Well, we do know one thing...what good fortune it is that now that the Terry Schiavo coverage is waning since the feeding tube has been removed from the cable news networks (credit Jon Stewart), CNN now has a new headline story to keep us captivated.

My condolences to all catholics who grieve most at this time.

I'm sorry if this has already been said, but in my local news (in Iceland), it was said that Italian media had mixed information about the Pope.
It's supposed to be because of, to some extent, a heart or brain scanner that showed no readings. According to the Vatican, the Pope wasn't really plugged into the scanner so the news were mostly false.

This is sadly only a matter of time now, though.

Sorry, I just never understood the grieving, mourning thing. He dies and goes where?

I think he is still alive. Its just a matter of hours before he is gone.

I am probably going to get alot of flack for this. The reason we grieve is purely for us. We miss the person who has passed and yes i do believe that we should grieve for a while. I have lost so many people in my life and yes i did grieve for them but when i think of either how much pain they arent in anymore or what their spirits are doing I am quite happy. This by no means makes me heartless or whatever. Grieving is a purely a human response. The world will be sad when the pope dies, i was sad when Diana died. But what i feel is usually not for the person who has died but for their family and friends.

I am guessing that he will hold out until sunday...I have noticed in the past that often very religious people pass away on Sunday, kind of strange, but it wouldn't surprise me if he made it until then.

He's supposed to die on a Friday and rise on a Sunday.

It's been about 12 hours since this thread was started and my local radio station is reporting that John Paul II still clings to life. He will be honored by history as much more than the leader of one religious denomination. He has been a touchstone of morality in an increasingly amoral world, standing head and shoulders above politicans and heads of state.
