I don't think this was received as a comment on this persons entry, I think they just saw it in a thread. I saw this statement also, I thought it was in this thread, but its either been edited out or I overlooked it.

it was in this thread around the 4 or 5 page, If it had been a comment on only my picture it would not have bothered me very much, because it would be directed just towards me, but to post a comment like that in the thread, in my oppinion is just plain eggotistical and jerkish.
(thank you for the support...luckily I have not gotten any comments like this one)

Step one. Give in to your inner geek. (anal-retentitive qualities help)
Step two. fire up your spread sheet program.
Step three. Enter scores as they post, including A. vote number B. Average score C. updated time.
Step four. enter the seperate numbers in seperate cells.
step five. Multiply votes by score then subtract total from previous aggregate number, then divide by how many votes came in since you last updated. That gives you the average of the last few scores.
Step six. update every couple of seconds and find each score as it comes in( hint, you are now in a very unhealthy mental space. Your family misses you.)
Step seven. To complete the geek fest, figure out patterns in the average voting course of the week or day by posting up average scores for that time of day.
Sad part is, to do this properly, with enough updates to do this right, you don't have time to do any photography. |

This is my first challenge. At first I thought my score was bad but after seeing the awesome entries i realized it wasn't too bad. The comments from the voters were helpful in pointing out how I could improve the picture.
At last check my score was 5.18. |

I am somewhat encouraged because my score has rebounded some, but at first I was unhappy with my score until I view the many other incredible entries.

How do you find time to shoot ur own pics? heheh
I mean, I kinda thought of a way to check the individual votes.....but man, c'mon! Are u the math guy or what? If not, at least you're persuasive!

I think they do that in a random order during the challenge, not only for ribbon winners (not sure though). Maybe to discourage cheating the rules.
