I've done a lot of research and brainstorming for this challenge (Watched a total of 5 movies involving or pertaining to facelessness and listened to a few songs) and I think I have my idea, and how to execute it. Now all I have to do is accurately guess the number of minutes that elapse before I get a DQ request. I have a feeling it won't score as high as I'd like, but I was definitely challenged with this challenge, and my solution is no easy ordeal. Maybe I should find a cute little kid with an umbrella. |

Here is another sample of it's use. I have entered this one last Oct for the October Free Study
....However, I'm sure it would have done better in this challenge...Wrong timeing I suppose. Enjoy.

I believe we still have a one-month "trial" membership for $5. |
I will once I find a way to get a pen-pal account or convince my parents to buy me a membership. |

I sure wish we were able to just interpret the word "Faceless" on this challenge.
I found this on one of our state historical treasures yesterday. I suppose it is a list of our next generations historical society. It was taken at Knight's Ferry, site of the old Tulloch grist mill in the California Mother Load country.

I guess this means I have to figure out what normal human activity is? |

My interpretation was like "Candid" but without showing faces. Anything a human is doing when they haven't been posed by the photographer is 'Normal human activity' in my opinion.

I have what I think is a great idea for the challenge but based on the opinions in this thread it won't score well...but what do I care? I'm going to do it anyway! |

Faceless is a cool theme but I think "headless" would be even more interesting.
I'm sort of with cloudsme. I'd prefer not to see any sort of face, mask or otherwise, while voting.

I agree with this. That is how I interpretated the challenge but I suppose i could be wrong!! wouldn't be the first time I was wrong with a challenge. |

Being posed is also a "normal human activity". All the thing says is faceless, meaning, as I understand the word, without face. I didn't read anything about "candid".

I can't think of anything that would be more normal for a model then posing. Despite things I may have heard that would suggest otherwise models are human. I think you should interpret this anyway you please. If it is a good picture and falls within the parameters of the chalenge it will score well.

I wonder with this "faceless" challenge.... you aren't supposed to see the subjects face but what about the back of the head..as long as you aren't getting the front of the body? Would that qualify? I would like to know before I enter this one.

Its a faceless challenge not a headless one so i think the back of it sutes right in. :) but this is my opinion.

The rules also say "normal human activity" unless it is a situation in which the person should be wearing a mask, wedding, painter, hunter, ect. I would say it gets a lower score, but I am a new kid on the block, so what do I know? I also don't think it should be an obvious pose. |

Zeus,
that's sure as hell faceless, but how will people react to the "normal human activity" part? It's avery artfully "contrived" image, a fine image, but I suspect the voters are gonna lean towards "candids without faces"...
Robt.
