Hi Sean. Yep, this is what I thought your Earth Day entry was. I remembered it as being very, very cool. Good luck in the contest! I can say that since I'm not judging. :)

Sean, thanks for commenting on my Family entry. I've been trying to remember where I saw this photo, so I could make it a favorite. Now I know. The BOKEH is amazing; and I especially like how you were able to hide the camera and yourself. The footprints make it for me.

Great shot!! Always good when you can't see the photographer in a reflective surface like that. You've done very well!

There's something I don't get - with such a shallow depth of field, how come the reflection's in focus?

I was just looking at this again. Very interesting. It almost looks as if you can step into another world or more peaceful world. I love the footprints. Looks like someone has gone into that peaceful world.

Again Congrats!

Beautiful photo. The bubbles and the ball work very well together. I struggle to see how this is an everyday object for anyone however.

This is a great shot, good clear DOF, like the clarity of the whole shot. Full marks!

Think you've probably got a few folk fooled (including me) but where's your camera?? I think the angle of the water looks a little funny, i.e. if the call is at the waters edge, how can the reflection be like it is... Questions, Questions, Questions.... what all good shots should produce!! :-)

Fantastic shot! Look foreward to seeing how this was done.
P.s. i am recomending this for disqualification, however from my experience my mark goes UP when I get the "This photo has been validated" message. (No Hard feelings). 8
Edit Monday.I see it has been validated now!! Great stuff!

Cool, way to use the long lens and the sun to hide yourself and the camera! Interesting composition, nice reflections. Heh heh, I can see your footprints. :-)

Upon review I changed my vote days later to a higher score appreciating the perfect composition underlining the focal point. The semblance of a Sherlock Holmes lense to magnify the sun on the horizon, the line of water and trees that take me right into the picture, and the out of focus background that jumps my attention to the mirrored ball.

great choice of perspectives to eliminate (nearly) your reflection. magnificent setting and excellent job on choosing your DOF. The crop lends a great balance to the image. [8]

just the right placement for the ball - the footprints are a subtle element - dof is great -- not sure how I feel about the bubbles :)

I have skipped voting on this photo several times - I think it is an excellent photo but to me it doesn't fit in what I believe is the spirit of the "everyday object" theme. I am sorry to say that I am a theme stickler in my voting.

Wish there weren't footsteps in the reflection. Nicely timed shot, I know how hard it is to get with a wave going around it (I've tried many shots like this myself: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=74958). Well done. Not sure how many people will see this as an everyday object.

Everyday object? If you meant the ball itself, I'll have to take your word for it. I've honestly never seen one before. What I really find interesting is how you've managed to not be in the reflection without cloning. That's something I'd really like to learn for when I'm taking photos of Christmas ornaments.
