Yep, I totally agree. Which is why "art" photos get shown in galleries (to relatively small audiences) and pictures of babies dressed as flowers make it into every store in America on greeting cards :D

I went out today (kuldinn maður..) with a 50mm on the camera, thinking I'd just shoot a few frames with it and then switch to something more practical, but these things are just so fun to use! I walked around with it for more than two hours

phew...6 for 6!
Edit: Now 7 for 7! One week! Okay, I know...no big deal...I won't bug you guys with anymore updates this month as this is the first major benchmark...but after I do one month, I'll have to celebrate again!
Thanks for the inspiration, Nick (and everyone else)!
Day 7:

Not boring at all. I really like your "Little Star" shot is great and also the mailbox one caught my eye. She must be just yanking your chain. :-)
Day 8 and everytime my husband sees me taking a picture of something laying around the house, he says to me,"Run out of ideas already?" AWWWww, what does he know!!! :-I Lets just say, I'm looking forward to Spring and nice weather!! :-)

I'm finding it to be extremely therapeutic...what I thought would be a neat little thing to do has become a very personal and emotional catharsis of sorts. What I'm learning most is that I have a lot of things to say (mostly to myself) and the seemingly-simple task of taking a picture to go with it is helping me find my voice. :o)

Went mucking about in the mud today..I just had to get outside! So that's where I got today's photo. I was headed for the other end of the field, but then it started raining - again - and I didn't have anything to really protect the camera. 12/12 so far.

12/12 so far, so good. I've found some days I get strapped for time and the shots aren't as good as I'd like them to be, but at least I'm keeping it up... so far. :-)
@ Helgi, I must've missed your PAD link earlier, just checked it out and you're shots are outstanding. Great work, I'll be checking back often. :-)
@ Laurie, I've enjoyed reading your daily thoughts. It's nice to see what's going on in other people's minds sometimes and it's nice to have a place to share mine own if I feel so inclined. :-)

I agree...some days like today I dont have anything on way to work that catches my eye...or like todaythe fog was so bad you could not see 30 feet in front of you. THen get busy so no lunch...then stay until after dark at work... so I go searching house for victims....
Those days are not as good as others but I am still searching for subjects and learning about my new camera that is now 12 days old...LOL

Better late than never? You guys were having so much fun I thought I'd do it, too. (I chickened out last year.) The galleries I've checked out so far look great! I'm going to have to do a lot of "figuring-out" to customize my gallery like Jacko's! It looks realllly good.
