I have been away from my computer for a few days and I cant believe a simple little question i asked previously has turned into what it has.
I feel extremely bad for asking and I am truly sorry. It was just something I was curious about and certainly didnt want to start a argument between you guys. My heart is in my stomach. You are all entitled to your opinions of course and i fully respect them. I will just think in future whether the answer to the questions i ask are worth all of this or will I just look in google in future.
kind regards
Lisa |

Don't be sorry at all... it's not your fault that others have taken a simple question and blown it out of proportion. You had every right to ask and should never feel bad about it. :o)

Don't beat yourself up over it Lisa. You asked a simple question and we (myself included) turned it into a political rant. Sorry.

Don't feel bad...stuff like that just escalates and escalates and before you know it, you have nice, well-mannered people down eachothers' throats.

You should only feel bad if you believe that prior to your post everyone was getting along and your post created the hostility that was vented in said thread.
And if you believe the above... :)
Don't sweat it. Go take pictures.

Don't take responsibility for other peoples actions. If people wanna fight they will find a way. Unless you through a punch, you shouldn't feel bad. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

You didn't do anything wrong. Please don't be afraid to ask questions. Some people on here (looks around) just like to debate things. It was really no big deal, actually. :)
Please don't be put off by some of us idiots. ;-)

I thought the first few replies you got were intelligent, well-considered, and accurate. The thread degenerated pretty rapidly after that, but that had nothing to do with your original question, just the lack of restraint of a few of the posters. I attempted to steer the thread back on course but to no avail and finally had to terminate it. Please don't feel bad, your original post was an inteligent, perceptive question.

I wish some of my threads or even photos stirred as much emotion as the aforementioned thread. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Not your fault at all. Some people will subvert the most innocent of threads to their own questionable purposes. Your thread simply got hijacked.

That would be pretty easy, just post a winning blue ribbon shot and say 'this is crap'
:D

I've got the crap part down that I can pull it off effortlessly.. All that's missing is the blue ribbon to go with it ;)

When passion is involved you get passionate responses. You may have got more info than you expected but c'est la vie. Where would the excitement on DPC be without a good RANT?

Lentil started a thread asking if and why Americans and Canadians don't get along. Harmless question.
No worries, no need to feel sick over it. There's no angry mob headed down your street.

There's a pattern with forums.
Someone says something with a bit of bite - others take it up and run with it - then someone else doesn't read all the posts and wades in expecting to have their entry read - then someone kicks off big time (while sitting in virtual anonymity behind a computer) - then the thread gets locked - then someone starts mediating - then people moan about the ranting - then the thead develops its own gravitational field and starts drawing matter and light - no one or thing escapes and we all die a horrible stretchy wierdy science fictiony death. The end.

We should get along we are practically the same! Maybe being neighbours we just need a bigger fence.
;-)
DonĂ¢€™t feel bad about asking such a question, generally we get along great. American people are fantastic just like Canadians folks.
