		| | In light of the recent two projects that have been brought up by John Setzler, he has encouraged others to take the initiative to start similar types of projects. As a result of talking to him personally, both blemt and myself have teamed up to make a third project for those who want to apply to. This will however, be limited to users within the United States as it is a project about the U.S.
 Goal
We will need one photographer to represent each of the fifty states of the United States. If this goal cannot be reached, then the project will be discontinued. If you are interested in joining this project, post below.

The theme of this project is state mottos or state slogans. Your image should clearly express the motto or slogan. Each state has at least one respective motto or slogan which are listed here. We will need a photographer from each state to represent their state motto in a similarly organzied project as those that have been listen in the past two days by John Setzler.

We are hoping to get all of the states represented here so once again, please post if you are interested. When you do post, please include your state of residence as well. Thank you.

NOTE: Similar to the other two colaborative projects- the goal here is a poster sized image with 50 photos from photographers in all 50 U.S. states. Each photographer will be permitted to sell/distribute this image in an unmodified format. So y'all don't try suing ua, you will be asked to sign a release granting the right for the image to be distributed.

Other details will be posted later as needed.

 Thanks and happy shooting!

Unfortunately, the theme of this project is the 50 state mottos, so I don't think we can really include you or the majority of our international audience. I'm sorry --- we have nothing against Britain though! Keep looking for projects, I would assume that there will be more in the following days to come.

Hopefully this project will be open for submissions for at least 6 months so as to provide a variety of different seasonal conditions? Otherwise the US is going to look awfully "wintery" for a lot of the midwest/northeastern states... =]

		| | Missouri: Salus populi suprema lex esto (Latin, "Let the good of the people be the supreme law")
You know, I have lived in Missouri all my life and have never heard that motto. :p

The unofficial slogan of "Show Me" is much more fitting. "Show Me" is even beats the official motto out for a spot on our license plates. :D

I have no clue what I would photograph for the official motto, but if it keeps the project moving I'll give it a try -- although the unofficial slogan is much more interesting.

I'll step aside as an alternate, if we are alling 'dibs', should another speak up with a better sense of the official state motto.

 David

Now I am really upset! First, a challenge recommendation that excludes a large percentage of the DPC paying membership, and now, we have been dethroned as the 51st state by Britian! What's next?

Since when did the UK become the 51st state?

It was my understanding that the USA held us lowly Canadians to be the "real" 51st state. That was the case yesterday when G.W. Bush bushwhacked our Prime Minister in Halifax with an unscheduled agenda topic that he tossed into an important speech made to thank Canada for helping out during 9/11.

We all felt like family yesterday when we were totally blind-sided politically. You would only screw over a close and personal friend that way. Someone who you would consider to be a de facto extension of your own family, like a 51st state kind of friend - right?

But, today, you say that the UK is back to being your most favoured nation. I suppose the Australians will pass us next? Can we be the 53rd state then? In return, you all can be a Province if you want too?

Believe me we all don’t feel that way towards Canada. Heck, I look forward to the Strafford Festival every year so much that I actually looked into moving to Canada after November's embarrassment, but unfortunately ya’ll don’t let us “political refugees” compete for jobs. So I have to stay here, suffering in a “red state” to feed my kids. Remember half of us didn’t want that moron in office.

Oops, sorry for getting way too political on this fine photography forum.

BTW Puerto Rico has always been considered the 51st state, and on occasion even the possibility of statehood has even discussed in congress.
