Despite I could't participate, I had lot of fun to work on this image.

Rene, can't get thet little mark above the e, you used different things than all of us. Good thinking. The lighten/dodge tool did some nice color changes on the trunks. Did you try pumping up the sat in those areas after making them light? I think I will try to do a couple this way. Thanks for the tip.
This one is kind of different. I did want the dark room to be part of the composition and didn't use any lights to make sure it remained dark.

Just wanted to say how much of a pleasure it is viewing these images. There are SEVERAL here that I like much better than many of those entered in Masters and that would score 8, 9 or 10 from me if they were in that challenge.

Well done everyone!

These are the only two I have which kind of fit the theme:

For me an image of the scene needs to built without definitive structure or artificial means. It should be an amalgam of other forms, light, textures, etc.

Edit: I quite agree Kavey.

I had thought of the pin head one at the start, but now I think it's more pop art. I do love it and it makes me happy to look at it, so maybe it does fit with the technique or at least with the idea of the technique.

In your comments you mention a filter over the lens. What kind of filter? It has a very nice look and "feel" to it.

I used a soft focus filter with some dippity-doo hair goo on it. The hair stuff dries nicely so I don't have to worry about it smearing. I might put some clear polish over it to keep it permanent. Anyway, you can build up the thickness of your lines with the stuff, so it's more varied and it creates different levels of light entering the camera.

Oh, thank you :D I was trying to figure out a way to make a portable lens so I could carry it around with me. I was thinking of trying vaseline between Saran Wrap or something. Your great idea will be a very nice alternative to carrying around a vaseline-smeared plate!

Hmmm, I really like the first one a lot - better than most of the entries in the Masters challenge. There's something about the position of that lily and the way it's balanced out by the line of white shapes... that along with the colour palette really works for me. The other two are also very interesting.

I got tired of pulling out the ones I did with vasoline. By the time I got my fingerprints off it and ready to use, it was all smeared and just made foggy pictures. With the hair goo, the lines stay where you want them. Glad I could help.

I've had another look at all the images shared in this thread and posted comments on all the ones that particularly struck a chord with me.

Well, I'm super late to the party, but just thought I'd throw this in here:

Just moved my impressionism photo to here! :)

I've reworked an older photo to try to create the impressionist look. I would love to try some of the ideas posted here to attempt an impressionist photo without the major post editing.

Does this fit the theme?
