Damselfly by JackoComment: Congratulations!
You have obviously set a new standard for shooting DPC Macros and in the end making the Macro challenges a lot more interesting. You are a valuable member to have around :) Very nice work and congratulations on keeping the bug alive :) |

CRW_8335-01-cr1W.jpgby RHoldenSrComment: I tacked a piece of blue photographic background paper to the fence as a temporary background. The ISO was very high (ISO 1600) to get 1/2000 sec shutter speed and that is why it is grainy. I kind of like it in way sort of like playing the old LPs and listening to the crackling noise of the stereo needle if you know what I mean :) It gives it the old feeling of high ISO/grain film.

Summer at the Farm by L1Comment: Laurie
Congratulations!! Very well done.
I know what you mean about the storm!
My wife and I have been working on landscaping our backyard for the last month and creating a Butterfly/Hummingbird/Bird feeding area and it has been raining a lot for Texas.
Again Very nice work. |

Congratulations!
Hand Held? Did you rest on the truck door?
Did you use any ND filters or etc?
For only 1.5 secs It looks like it was turning fast :) Message edited by author 2004-04-14 15:26:17. |

Mountain Lion (Cougar)by RHoldenSrComment: This Cougar was setting atop a rocky cliff right against the chain link fence. I had to do a quick paint (does not mean I did it quick, it was very tedious work) mask and do a gaussian Blur. Otherwise it looked like crap. The spot above the tongue is where his to fangs met and you see a small opening through the mouth.
Photoshop:
Level adjustment
Shadow higlight - minor to bring detail out around eye
Quick paint mask
Gaussian blur to blur out chain link fence |

Cyclingby RHoldenSrComment: This shot was an accident :)
I was practicing the panning technic and the second biker ran past.
So I entered it just for the heck of it.
I knew the first biker was not clear enough for a real good score. |
