The lens was set at F5.6 according to the exif data, you have to do the math the camera will not do it for you :)

if you had a 2x converter on it, how was your aperature at 5.6?

This Cougar was setting atop a rocky cliff right against the chain link fence. I had to do a quick paint (does not mean I did it quick, it was very tedious work) mask and do a gaussian Blur. Otherwise it looked like crap. The spot above the tongue is where his to fangs met and you see a small opening through the mouth.

There's a very strange bit just under the top middle of the mouth opening. Other than this, a very fine photo. 7

Not to be encouraged into the house. This is very good. It catches the slavering jaws and the pitiless eyes.

Nice shot and composition. This shot appears to have had it's DOF and background adjusted in photoshop, which is fine, except that it perhaps was not done carefully enough. The animals back ear looks like a gradient or fill is over it, and parts of the background don't look natural. My apologies in advance if this is just my misperceptiion.

Beautiful> Love the tongue between the teeth. My only suggestion (and it's a very minor, picky one) would be to take in a bit more negative space - so the nose has a bit of breathing room... but overall I love the image and subject - 8

Nice photo, I can see those saliva juices coming out. Did you manually blurred the background?

This shots screams "photoshopped background!". It may not be the case, but it sure looks like it. Too bad cuz it really takes away from this image.

Nice portrait. The background seems too edited though, looks like the blurring is artificial to some extent (most noticable above the left eye).
