Soviet Signature by kiwinessComment: Absolutely wonderful shot. Congratulations.
Also, congrats to your model. I don't know how one could maintain that composure with those sticky beads stuck all over her.
It is no wonder it got the blue. |

Aneomeby FrostyPawsComment: Wonderful shot, great DOF control. For my taste, it could be a bit brighter.
Very nice! |

emchris10.jpgby grigrigirlComment: Sometimes I like certain shots and don't understand why... either. I am glad you posted this because I like it very much too. The general environment, the lighting with the vignetting makes me think of a picture that might have been taken before the turn of the last century, or earlier... much earlier.
A pretty model always adds to a shot, and you have one. This is a curious pose which makes me wonder what is happening. I like the bare feet. It adds some additional curiosity.
All in all, I like it a lot. I am not surprised you do too. |

IMG_7256-copyweb.jpgby chrispComment: Lovely lady and a very pleasant pose. The background and lighting etc. is fine for me, better than I usually manage. The other commenters make good suggestions.
I would remove whatever it is behind her head. It also looks like her right arm is doubled, or reflected or something... Anyway, for me, trying to figure out what these things are take my attention away from the main subject of your portrait; the beautiful model with the pleasant smile.
If this is really your first portrait, I can tell you that you are starting off a lot better than I have. |

DSC_9964AAADP.jpgby ColeyComment: Beautiful model and great set-up. I like the reflections on the floor.
My only suggestion would be to disengage the model from the camera... perhaps have her look off in the general direction her left hand is pointing, but, I don't know, that might make the model seem strained. It would be a shame to loose her graceful feeling.

You might have gotten away with a bit less foreground, but this is wonderful. |
