Day 3 - Phone Homeby taljComment: LOL! I thought "phone home" before reading the caption! Nice control of the light for such a shiny object. The DOF accents your subject very well. The only thing I don't love is the background as it seems like there must be some more interesting colors to compliment the color of the coin. Then again, perhaps a dull color emphasizes the coins glitter. |

Macro-Microby bjoernComment: There are some nice triangles here. I really like the way you composed this shot. I contemplated shooting a mic of mine the other day, but it had too many dents :( |

Day 3 - Taste the rainbowby LonzComment: Fun colors. I might have dodge/burned some to darken the yellow tops & lighten the purples. Or perhaps a selective colors layer could have helped balance those out.

SH100103-Edit.jpgby ZeppKashComment: I like the red against the blue and shots of mechanical things are always interesting to me. This fun shot inspired my day 5 shot (of a crescent wrench mechanism) as I looked for something quick and easy to do. I felt bad for not taking the time to fix my massive blown out spots, so your comment about that made me feel a bit better. Thanks. |

SH100100-Edit.jpgby ZeppKashComment: Fun picture. There's a graininess to the near bottom right bokeh that's slightly distracting, but that's a minor detail. BTW, I had your pet portrait up and my wife couldn't stop laughing. Amazing how much fun a tennis ball (or three) can be. |

Bug Eyesby MelonMusketeerComment: I love the bug close ups. Perhaps you should photoshop this guy a close shave :) |

day 2 - Dinner timeby boyd2000Comment: Great detail in the abdomen. I would have liked the DOF set back slightly to get the bee's forward parts in the sweet spot, but I understand this is a tricky shot to make. I really enjoy this one. |

Another try by pjangelComment: I like this shot better than the first. The first does have some nice textures, but this one has a more interesting composition and I like the focus better here. Nice angle on this. |

LG day-2by scwalshComment: Nice perspective. The glare is distracting to me, or perhaps it's just the sharp border where the glare stops. It's an overall interesting picture. |

Escher Columnby JMartComment: Originally posted by desertoddity: that is really cool. i liked the ones with the musical notes, but this one is even better. you did a really great job and you pick interesting backgrounds. i'm amazed by the backgrounds. i don't see how you do that without getting the backgrounds wet and messed up. |
The water is in a shallow glass plate that is on top of the backgrounds (being very careful not to spill on my Escher book or music). Also, I had to put a dark cloth behind the plate to remove unwanted reflections. |
