'Skeeter Hawk The original was wing tip to wing tip before the crop.
Manual focus 180mm f2.8 ED + ext tubes M2 and 11mm.
Shot from about 3 ft. Monopod, no filter, flash,
Processing, crop, highlights, shadows, noise.

Excellent macro showing lots of detail. The drastic crop did cause it to look a little noisy and lost a little detail overall, but still a very good job with the equipment you had. It's always a struggle compromising between ISO, aperture and shutter speed to get the best picture. I'll have to look into those ext tubes.

eyes are in good focus. I like macros of bugs - we get to see how truly creepy they really look

I like it, but the bug does need to do something about the stubble, this is a photo shoot after all. I like the hexagonal shape in the eyes. I hope that by being called a, 'Skeeter Hawk', it eats Skeeters.
