Bic lighter, as if you couldn't tell...

Nearly a 100% crop of a 100mm macro.
(it looks better as a thumbnail IMO)

Spots are blown out on the wheel, i need to learn to control my light better. :(

I like the red against the blue and shots of mechanical things are always interesting to me. This fun shot inspired my day 5 shot (of a crescent wrench mechanism) as I looked for something quick and easy to do. I felt bad for not taking the time to fix my massive blown out spots, so your comment about that made me feel a bit better. Thanks.

The red is a bit distracting but it completes the image for being able to guess what this is without looking for the Bic logo. I like the details here. Lighting shiny metal is a tricky.

I enjoy seeing how tiny things are made. The red would have looked better if you had touched it up with some bright red nail polish. The wheel is just impressive and the blue is a good BG choice.
Congrats on the blue ribbon this week!

Excellent focus and sharp details. I too would have liked to see this with more of the lighter column and shot vertical.

The only reason it looks better as a thumb is because it seems to be more separated from the background in the thumb. I like it. Very original and great subject. I personally would have liked to have seen the supporting column under the gas pedal. Perhaps a vertical crop with a LOT of blue negative space?

I find the red part slightly distracting, but the blue background and the metal look great.
