A nice spin on an eye shot. It becomes a story here instead of merely a documentary shot of the eye. Love the color, and intent look. Mystical.

Hi Karmat!!!

ahem.. Okay..

Initial: cute idea.

Composition: Excellent. Use of Negative Space works in that the "kisses" tag leads my eye into the white space, and the white space pushes my eye back to the green wrapping.

Technical: I like the use of lighting... no harsh shadows, although I do wish I could better see the outline of the tag.. Sometimes wishes cannot come true - I realize this - but with the background so white, I wonder if any other lighting position would boost the less white outline of the tag. (does this make sense?). I even wonder if you could have 'cheated' by lighting touching the edge of the tag all the way around with a green or light blue marker. (Okay. I'll let it go.. now I sound obsessed).
The use of the slight shadow grounds the subject - so that it doesn't look like it is floating.

Overall good. Limited in keeping my interest, but cute.

Critique Club Assignment:

Hi Nards!!
Okay,

Initial: Nice! I like how my eye "wooshes" into the deepest part of the photo following the lines of the guitar strings. I like the rich natural wood tones. (Personal thing).

Composition/Technical: The composition works for me. I think it is perfectly place/framed. The colors and detail are good. I think there is a bit of over-sharpening perhaps? Doesn't look grainy or dithered, just a bit stair-stepped especially around the knobs in the foreground, and a bit on the strings. The use of DOF is excellent.

Can't say I'd do anything else to this. I would only suggest to clean up the quality.. although it isn't horrible, just not 'perfect' ;0)

Thanks, everyone, for your comments.. They were all very much appreciated! I had this idea for the "Blue" challenge, but didn't have time to execute the shot in time for that.. Tried to make it fit in Motion... ;0)

This is marvelous.... A bit dim though. I wonder if it would lose too much detail if it were a tad brighter. The sweeping motion carries me away into the horizon.

because the background is in sharper focus than the subject, it leads my eye to the big TEXAS word rather than the race car. My eye would rather not stay on the blurred object ... it seems too chaotic...
