I appreciate both your comments. I like the tone curve idea, but I am wondering if it takes away from the softness of the photos. The wind was blowing real had and your tone cureve takes out some of the haze that was caused by flowing sand. I agree that a different angle could have worked better for the photo, however being that I was walking into the wind and saw how neat the sand looked, I just took the picture, it wasn't really planned out very well. Thanks again to both of you!

After I read the comments here I tested the theory of improving the image with contrast adjustment. This version has had a single tone cuve applied, but no other processing. Just a suggested starting point...

I think you have a nice subject here for a photo... the swirling sand in the wind makes a good motion idea. As I view this image, I can feel the sand on my feet and hear the wind and the ocean sounds :) Photos that instil that type of feeling are good photos :)
I agree with one of your comments about the image being a bit 'flat' as far as color and contrast are concerned. I don't know if there was really a good way to punch that up a notch or not. The beach and the sky seem to come together as one color. Maybe a perspective where the sand is blowing at a diagonal to the upper right of the frame would allow you to bring some more housing into the image for some contrast breaks? not sure...

| This is marvelous.... A bit dim though. I wonder if it would lose too much detail if it were a tad brighter. The sweeping motion carries me away into the horizon. |
