two tone.jpgby silverhawkComment: Dont ya just wish the duck in the background had moved out of the way just a little bit : )
the foreground duck is really nice. Good blur in the wings with sharpness in the eye and body.
I would be tempted to try and clone out the background guy, or darken him out or something : ) |

carolina coyote.jpgby rodneygComment: Well, coyotes are my most weary subject. They are very 'wild' still.
I find the only friendly ones have mange. Of course, they make less pretty pictures.
This guy clearly has his summer coat on and it looks healthy, now I have been told in a class by moose peterson that you should only photograph animals when they look their best. Personally I photograph them whenever I see them which is never enough! Any way I would like the image a little darker. I find the dirt in foreground a bit too bright/distracting. I would also like to try it cropped a bit more on the bottom and on the left of him. I love the eye contact tho, and the green background helps him stand out in the image.
Nice capture.
(clearly i need to spend more time in NC you have foxes and coyotes roaming around close to people!) Message edited by author 2009-09-13 20:48:08. |

Goannaby Delta_6Comment: I can't quite figure this shot out, I certainly wish he were running towards me, not away. I would like him to pop more. I also wish that it was closer. But is he carrying that water bottle in his tail?
I can't tell really. If he is that is very odd and interesting.

Pig Frogby JuliBocComment: I think the muck and frog and its being close up are good, but I do wish that it was a bit sharper
if it was a little clearer I would really like it, the leave does not bother me, but maybe you could darken it a little?

Fox2.jpgby rodneygComment: What kind of fox is that?
Nicely done, it looks like it is in the hood, but I like the line of the grass leads your eye to the fox. He is nice and sharp, stands out from his background.
I would be tempted to crop it a bit more off the top and left? Just so he is closer.
I sure wish I had such cooperative animals at my place!
Well done |

Fighting Cranes.jpgby pmichaudComment: This is a great thumbnail, I was really excited. I was slightly disappointed with the bigger version in that I think the focus is on the their bellies vs. their heads/eyes where I would prefer it to be. It looks like maybe you added a lighting effect it has made their heads a bit too over exposed, I would like to see it maybe with different post processing. This shot is a potentially wow shot. I really think you have something good here.
If you re-work it I would like to see. |

Sinuousby ErikVComment: It reminds me of an early shot I did, called child's play
But I think it is an artsy way to show a cute critter, I think it is also nice that it puts the critter in his environment
good shot |

Red-shouldered Hawkby JuliBocComment: Boy do i know how it feels to come so close to getting a really wow shot only for it to have technical flaws...ugh... I think could use a little noise reduction still?
But you did manage a good capture here. It is so close... nice work keep it up! |

Yellowby ErikVComment: it is a beautiful shot, such an endangered little creature, good to see this pollinator is still working. I think the yellow and black is really nice together, works well, nice fuzzy colors.
well done |
