untitledby leafComment: Yes, it's centered, yes it has bright colours that draw your attention, however the subject is uninteresting and the circles on the garbage can compete with the squares in the fence from a visual design standpoint. Circles and squares can work if one is the main subject and the presence of the other is subtle. Unfortunately, both are very prominent in your image. 4 |

fly away with meby mamabear5612Comment: Good choice of subject and the child's glance leads you right to the main subject, however the contrast is a little low and the backgroung is not blurred enough and therefore distracting. A larger aperture (smaller number) would help blur the background more. 6 |

Contemplationby jimmyn4Comment: Nice portrait of your pal, however the background is a bit distracting. To blur it more, use a larger aperture (smaller number). Cropping a little more on the right would probably balance the image a bit better. 5 |

Wedding dressby tyrkinnComment: Very nice soft focus (created by the veil). To achieve slightly better balance I would suggest cropping a small amount from the right. 8 |

The Old Boathouseby browntComment: Dull grey skies or very bright skies always present a challenge. If you want the sky to be exposed right then the shadows are too dark. If you expose for the shadows then the sky is blown out. In this situation it appears that the dark areas in your image are about a 1/2 to 1 stop under exposed. A different perspective that includes less of the sky may have helped this situation. 5 |

Amanda's Eyesby deafwolfComment: You seem to have caught the little girl's spirit nicely here, however the focus seems to be a bit off and the wind chime on the right is distracting. 5 |

Just Me, Myself and Skyby ImagineerComment: Having the horizon very low in an image can produce a dramatic effect by miniturizing objects against a large field, however the challenge was to have the main subject dead center. If I were to rate this without respect to the challenge I would give it a 7, but since it doesn't meet the challenge (IMHO) I can only give it a 4, sorry. |

tricky-tracksby scwortmanComment: I believe you've got the exposure right here, however without the horizon or something to focus on in the distance it feels out of balance. |

Solitudeby artvetComment: I realize that the challenge is for a centred subject, however this probably would have worked better if the port-a-potty was in the lower left. |
