PaW2.jpgby CuttoothComment: PAW - I like the close-up macro with the petals filling most of the frame as a beautiful background. You did well on a hand-held shot. |

Snoqualmie Fallsby pjangelComment: PAW - Very nice iPhone shot. Good perspective. I saw the falls along the Oregon side of the Columbia when I went up there but never got to this one. Did you have to do much post-processing to make it look this good? |

Week 2 - The Argumentby AnnComment: PAW - Great shot. I love the seagull taking it all in. I'm going to have to find that rock. Is it near Bird Rock? I didn't recognize it as yours, not being a hummingbird ;-). I think reducing the brightness slightly would improve it. |

for Jon - Death is Not the Endby RetroesqueComment: PAW - Excellent memorial picture of a road that comes to a visual end but then continues in the unseen light. My condolences to Jon's family and friends. Very nice videos in the comments. |

week2.jpgby Covert_OddityComment: PAW - I like the very shallow DOF but still very detailed on the 2nd tine. A little blown out in the bottom parts of the tines but otherwise good lighting. |

Knobby quicheComment: PAW - Interesting take on something most people would overlook as a picture subject. Nice DOF and intriguing reflection on the door. I like the angle and composition. |

Week 2by karmatComment: PAW - Poor little cold, wet ducky maybe injured by a passing automobile. Maybe this is one of those that was in a huge container of ducky's that fell of a ship and ended up being found around the world and used by oceanographers to determine ocean currents. I like the desaturation of the grass. I think selecting and boosting the yellow saturation of the ducky would have enhanced this one.
This one is begging for a story.
Little Robbie didn't mind when mom gave him baths, since he played with Quackey while mom washed him. In fact, he liked Quackey so much he took him to bed and cuddled up to him, keeping him warm all night and sharing Robbies dreams. Robbie and Quackey were inseparable. One day when mom went in to Canton shopping Robbie brought him along to see the world. Robbie carried Quackey through Lowes, Costco and the grocery store. Robbie was proud to tell Quackey about all the interesting things they saw. When they left the last store Robbie put Quackey on the bumper and helped mom put the groceries in the trunk. Then they took off for home with Robbie eating Cheetos and talking to mom. They were almost home when Robbie noticed Quackey wasn't there. Then he remembered he had left Quackey on the bumper. Mom stopped and they looked but found Quackey was no longer there. Robbie talked mom into going back to the store and looking for Quackey, but he was nowhere to be found. Robbie was heartbroken and cried all the way home. Mom said she would get another rubber ducky, but Robbie wouldn't replace Quackey. After that Robbie never let mom go to the store without taking him, and he kept his eyes glued to the roadside all the way longing to find Quackey. |

Week 2by bauerfan71Comment: PAW - I'm going back and forth between these two. I think I like this better. I like the contrast between the barn's warm red and the cold colors of the rest of the shot. The blue in the sky does look a bit unnatural, but enhances the shot well. The B&W makes it look more stark and thus cold and raw. The tree line stands out on the color one more with the bare trunks against the green leaves or darker trunks if they aren't evergreens. I very much like the slope of the hill. |

Red Knobbed Cootby sulamkComment: PAW - I guess that would be an old coot and a young coot. Very nicely composed. I especially like the reflecting reeds. As others said it would be much nicer if it was sharper, and maybe increased saturation. The border works well. |
