This is a terrific shot! I actually don't think the background is distracting at all, it gives you a feel for the restaurant & makes you fell like you are actually sitting next to this guy. I frequently find myself staring & mesmorized by people, I find people so fascinating. You really captured his emotions here, great shot & the B&W is perfect for this shot.

I agree, the softness of the photo works really well with the subject. These are beautiful flowers, so many colors! I like how they're all bright & then there's the darker purple ones in the background. Great shot!

You've really given me a kick to learn everything I can about editing & I've downloaded some free versions of noise ninja & neat image, as well as some other plug-ins & it's like a whole new editing window has opened for me. I hadn't heard of that side challenge, what a great idea! (I looked through some of the photos, they're so unique & all have such depth to them). This is a great shot, I didn't even know there was a lens out there that could do this, it's very cool!

Haha, I'm glad to hear you finally got through to someone with your "howdy", maybe you started a whole howdy revolution :) There are so many interesting stories there about various landmarks, it's really cool!
